One of the most typical but undervalued accommodation in Le Marche is the "Rifugio di Montagna" the mountain hut. In Le Marche this kind of hospitality building is located in the mountains, sometimes accessible only by foot, intended to provide food and shelter to mountaineers, climbers and hikers. Mountain huts are usually operated by a Cai Club (Alpine Club) or some organization dedicated to hiking or mountain recreation.
Mountain huts can provide a range of services, starting with shelter and simple sleeping berths. Some, particularly in remote areas, are not staffed, this is the case of the Rifugio Vettore. In Le Marche most of the rifugi have a least a manager on site while other have staff which prepare meals and drinks and can provide other services. The best Mountain Huts provide lectures, sell clothing and small items. Most of the Mountain huts allow anybody to access their facilities, although some require reservations.
In most of the case Rifugi are in reality normal and comfortable farm stay located in the Sibylline Mountains.
Here the most complete list of this type of accommodation suitable in every season.
The villa Il Settecento, a refined period residence, is located a few kilometres from Force in the Marches inland, in a family holding crouched in a corner of wood, mid-way between The Sibillini Mountains National Park and the Adriatic Coast. It is a magic place with its stretch of cherry, pine, walnut, apple, acacia, oak and hornbeam trees; here you feel lifted and, at the same time, anchored to the old stones dating back to 1700.
The small village has a characteristic setting: the manor palace, the small church, the farmer’s house, the hut and the farmyard.
The small church, consecrated, is dedicated to St. John the Baptist. The farmer’s house, recently done up, has kept its original wall structure, whereas the furniture, while keeping the traditional austerity of Marches’ rural mansions, co-exists with accessories meeting a refined modern taste and guaranteeing a perfect welcome to the guests.
The interior shows a happy combination of old and modern: glass, different essences of woods such as oak, elm and chestnut; wrought iron and steel; wood and glass floors and terracotta tiles. Remarkable are the wall decorations, the old chimney, some furniture pieces and the cave within the holding.

What makes Castel di Luco so extraordinary is the fact that castle has barely been altered since the time of its construction in the 1400s.
