Tod's autumn/winter 2014-15 collection sees the women's collection, called the “Italian Set”.
The Tod's women's ready-to-wear collection for autumn/winter 2014-15 explores the graphic, feminine possibilities of leather for clothing. Set is based on a combination of leather with jacquard, wool, mink or cashmere to create a timeless, luxurious, sophisticated style. A military theme runs throughout, evident in the Montgomery duffle coats, capes, trench coats, half-belted cabans and uniform-style leather skirt. But the effect is decidedly elegant rather than utilitarian.
In a shake-up for Tod’s menswear presence it was announced that Andrea Incontri has joined the Design Team at the Italian leather goods label as Creative Director over the weekend. In an effort to re-align the menswear to give it a more prominent foothold, there will be a focus on ready-to-wear in the coming months following Incontri’s successful, if not sudden, debut collection at Tod’s shown on Sunday in Milan. To celebrate the launch of its new D.D. Bag, and to highlight the special artisanal skills and craftsmanship involved in its construction, Tod's is pleased to announce the release of a 3D video that brings the story of this remarkable new bag to life.
Based around the flight of a group of butterflies, symbols of profound metamorphosis, conceived by the Italian artist Mauro Seresini, the film charts the journey of these delicate insects as they visit Italy's most famous landmarks. In Venice, Tuscany, Capri and Rome's Piazza di Spagna and Pantheon they collect golden tools with which they will eventually assemble a beautiful D.D. Bag.
It's a dreamy and romantic fantasy designed to express the artistry of Made in Italy that lies at the heart of Tod's leatherwork.
