In the early decades of the twentieth century, in Montegranaro, a little city in the Marche region, immediately after the First World War, Adelio Franceschetti (1893-1957), grandfather of the current owners of the Calzaturificio Franceschetti, started men’s shoes production, completely handmade in the workshop downstairs. The horse racing event comprises the ‘sport’ part of the Marche Endurance Lifestyle. Sport has an amazing ability to bring people together and the Marche Endurance Lifestyle 2013 does the same. The mega event is all set to take place this year in Italy in a tried and trusted format that shows how sport, business, international meetings and regional promotion can focus the spotlight on two countries, the UAE and Italy. Last year His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai (the winner of last edition), his sons Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai (who will attend the event this year and who was placed second last year) and Shaikh Majid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (who was placed third), took part at the event. “The ‘sport’ part of Marche Endurance Lifestyle will consist of the Conero Endurance Cup, scheduled for Saturday, June 15, which will see riders from all over the world challenge each other on a course drawn up entirely within the Conero Regional Park,” says Gianluca Laliscia, the owner of sistemaeventi.it in Italy, and the organiser of Endurance Lifestyle for several years. For the past two years he has been organising the event in Marche, Italy [...] Delete the scoop?

Nerina, also dubbed the boat of solidarity, left the port of Syracuse on Monday morning. This sailing boat was restored by a group of ex-convicts and former drug addicts from a prison in Palermo. The Nerina team left for Ancona [Le Marche] to participate in the world sailing championship Orc International from June 21 through 29. The boat was made available by a nautical company from Syracuse for the program Libera di, Libera da directed by Concetta Carbone and realized by the cooperative Tandem, which has been dealing with the social reintegration of young offenders for years now. Eighteen students, selected from the local Asp8 Sert, have learned activities related to sailing and boat construction. The project’s goal was the ambitious participation in the World Championship where some of the kids participate as board members, others as technicians until the end the event. Delete the scoop?

The city of Osimo re-discovers the splendor of the ancient Roman times with gladiators, legionnaires, live shows, flea markets, thematic workshops, Roman farm, convivium and visits to the underground city. Auximum it is the name of this event that evokes in 2 days (8 and 9 June) of happenings an episode of the history of Osimo, represented by the passage of the troops of Julius Caesar in Le Marche Territory, after the crossing of the Rubicon in the year 49 BC and the consequent challenge to Rome.

For centuries the Adriatic has been a major highway and, for this reason, the Abruzzo and Le Marche regions of Italy share history, culture, tourism, arts and ancient crafts with Croatia. The EU "Adristorical Lands" project aims to highlight remarkable, but largely unknown attractions, on both sides of the Adriatic. I embark on a voyage of discovery. Hvar, Croatia [...]

Senigallia is the port city that will host the annual Italian summer Jamboree 50s festival. The city is located in the Adriatic Riviera of the country and is famous for its history, beautiful marine landscapes and much more. This is also a preferred holiday destination for many families from all over the world. It is because Senigallia is a quiet, clean and exceptionally Italian town with a lot to give back to its visitors.

In a perfect world, we wouldn't need to explain why Italy's beaches and islands are worth visiting.
Numana Beach - Mountain trails make this one beach destination you won't want to laze about on. Inside the Mount Conero Park on the Adriatic coast, Numana Beach lies at the base of a high, rugged cliff. It's silent, peaceful and breezy and surrounded by lush vegetation: no wonder hermits used to come here in the Middle Ages to meditate.

The first time I went to Italy, I wanted to see the popular cities, but I also wanted to settle in to one of the country’s lesser known places. One by one, I looked at various areas. The fact that I couldn’t find much information online about Le Marche, confirmed my sense that this was the place to go. The long, narrow region stretches down along the Adriatic Sea from not far south of Venice to a spot roughly parallel with Rome. Its western edge is the ridge of the Apennines, the mountain spine that runs the length of the Italian boot. Delete the scoop?

The 13th Century castle stands small but proud, just like the people that live below it's ancient walls in the idyllic farming village of Piobbico (Le Marche, Italy). The castle was altered and transformed in 1573-1587 into a beautiful Renaissance residence, designed by the architect Baccio Pontelli and built by Count Guido Antonio I Brancaleoni, captain of Duke Federico da Montefeltro.

One of the most challenging hikes that we can make in the group of the Sibillini mountains: almost 1,700 meters difference in level for 20 kilometers. San Severino Marche it is one of the most beautiful towns of Le Marche Region located in the Province of Macerata along the beautiful river Potenza Valley. There are two wonderful occasions to visit the town, amazing chances to discover the passionate and devote temper of the Marchigiani people: the amazing celebrations of the patron saints San Severino and San Pacifico. Visiting San Severino Marche in the occasion of the San Pacifico’s festival on 24th September, you will discover the religious character of the town, made of faith and devotion. For the San Severino’s festival, from 8th June, you will be brought back to the Middle Ages with cultural and artistic shows and popular events. The most famous event is the Palio dei Castelli with the famous Corsa delle Torri (The Race of the Towers). The Historical re-enactment of San Severino Marche is among the most important historical commemorations in central Italy. During the Palio and the Corsa delle Torri more than 1300 historical characters will take part of the shows: nobility, commoners, musicians, archers, arbalesters and belligerents. There will be a historical parade with the "Offerta dei Ceri" (ceri = big candles) to the patron saint. The Palio dei Castelli is a combination of several historical medieval games such as tug-of-war, race of the Towers, archery, ability games, etc. The big event is represented by the race where teams will carry huge models of tower of castles representing their villages (Rocchetta, Colleluce, Serralta, Taccoli and Cesolo) and “Rioni” (town quarters: Settempeda, Castello, di Contro). The team that gets the highest score in every game wins the Palio dei Castelli. Winners, usually, celebrate their victory all night long. According to historical chronicles, San Severino’s first festival was held on 8th June 1198 today we can assist to the recreation of medieval evenings, games and shows during which the historical centre is transformed into an enchanting medieval village.
This year's edition includes 8 different days of festivities.

Mariano Pallottini's insight:
Le Marche Region in Italy has seen the birth of many small breweries thanks to a unique social project: the Malt Producers consortium CO.BI. (Consorzio Marchigiano Produttori dell’Orzo e della Birra). The role of the consortium is essential for the Breweries chain to malt the cereals of the members to enable them to produce beer under an agricultural regime. Le Marche is always working to find alternatives for agricultural production and after have been committed for years to overcome the difficulties that farms find to produce beer based on its raw material (barley, wheat, barley, etc.) now see the future in positive way with a growing market. With 17 quality artisan breweries, Le Marche is candidate to become leader in Italy and Apecchio the Italian Capital of Craft Beers.
