I don't think there is anything wrong with him shooting guns as a hobby of his. There is a big difference between that and gun control; he has every right to maintain his hobby without skepticism about things he is trying to do about gun control.

It is nice to see Obama moving forward with his second term priorites since he can no longer fix the fiscal cliff. Obama's cabinet is becoming more diverse which could lead to a broader understanding that allows for more solutions.

I'm honestly not surprised by this. One man made the comment that he doesn't pay taxes because the city doesn't supply services... maybe they would if he and the other half of the population payed their fair share of taxes!

Is Obama to blame like John McCain says because Obama "has had no communication with Republicans on the issue" or are Republicans in Congress just looking to disagree with Obama? I think with the way Congress has not acted in the past, the White House should continue to take the driver's seat.

Twenty-one of the 35 Senate seats up for election in 2014 are now held by Democrats, and most of those 35 states are Republican leaning. But that is not necessarily enough to make Republicans the favorite to win control.

I agree with this author by saying that Republicans will gain seats in the Senate but I do not think they will be able to take the majority over the Democrats.

Aah, political calculus. Large seat changes have occurred in the past, but it is rare in midterm elections. How will Obama's policies in the next 2 years influence this?
