Inspired by a recent Wall Street Journal article, Sustainable America has created the following infographic to show how food is wasted and lost around the world, and what can be done about it.

 

Food waste and food security are serious problems, but there are current solutions and ways you can help. Read on to learn more, and stay tuned for our next blog post, which will delve deeper into some of the points made by Lappe and Nierenberg in the Wall Street Journal piece.

Green Guerilla Tokyo : plantations sauvages

Okabé a un objectif ambitieux : transformer Tokyo, cette jungle de béton comme il l'appelle, en un espace où cohabiteraient harmonieusement les hommes et la nature.


Avec son collectif, les Vallicans Harvesters, il opère à la limite de la légalité en plantant tulipes et arbres fruitiers à chaque mètre carré de terre qu'il déniche.


De trottoirs en trottoirs, il fait redécouvrir aux citadins la beauté de la verdure.

The URBACT Programme, with the active support of the European Commission, launched a pilot project for training elected representatives in integrated sustainable urban development.

This pilot training project is opened to Mayors, Deputy Mayors and Councillors of the 200 cities which are partners in the URBACT 3rd Call for Proposals projects. URBACT received about 70 applications and 30 elected representatives coming from all over Europe have been selected.

je suis assez d'accord avec vous Christelle, parfois les jardiniers sont pires utilisateurs de produits chimiques que les agriculteurs ! mais il ne faut pas baisser les bras et bravo de continuer à travailler la terre naturellement malgré tout ! =) !
