Trasformar euna presentazione in una storia da raccontare: lo sforzo più complesso!

Nathan Schultz's curator insight, November 25, 2015 4:22 PM

This presentations clearly explains what makes a good story - you need to devise conflict, develop characters and add efficient details.  I enjoy this presentation because it explains the details of storywriting with a variety of interesting visuals, which makes it more entertaining to read.

9 Creative Storytelling Tools That Will Make You Wish You Were A Student Again

9 Creative Storytelling Tools That Will Make You Wish You Were A Student Again | lärresurser | Scoop.it

T.H.E. Journal asked educators for the most creative storytelling apps available, and we did a little digging on our own, too. The tools and apps we found turn students into novelists, artists, and moviemakers with each tool bringing its own powerful mechanism for transforming the traditional narrative--both inside and outside the classroom...

22 Rules of Story Telling every Teacher should Know about

22 Rules of Story Telling every Teacher should Know about | lärresurser | Scoop.it

"Writing is a scary task  for students because  it is partly a single-minded activity that calls for a lot of serious thinking and partly due to the overarching focus that has being placed on teaching writing as product and not  process. Donald Murray, a writing theorist of grand calbire, is unequivocal on this, in his Write to Learn  , Murray emphasizes the importance of teaching writing as a process. For him the problem with teachers of writing is that they are trained as teachers by studying a product and when they are  teaching writing  to their students, they basically focus their attention on what students have produced and not  what they might have done."

Brand Storytelling: 10 Steps to Start Your Content Marketing Hero's Journey

Brand Storytelling: 10 Steps to Start Your Content Marketing Hero's Journey | lärresurser | Scoop.it

As a content marketer, you have probably heard the call for us all to become brand storytellers. While this sounds great in theory, the tricky part for many companies is determininghow to develop these stories in the first place.

There are no hard-and-fast rules for developing your brand’s stories, but you can go back and look at classic storytelling and structure as a helpful map to guide you. For example, the classic “hero’s journey” from Joseph Campbell’s, The Hero with a Thousand Faces, outlines what he calls the “monomyth” — which is a pattern that many believe can be found in almost every narrative around the world.

Your company's story needs to be genuine and if you look hard enough it's right under your feet. If you need to look further than that, you're looking in the wrong place.

45SURF's comment, April 19, 2013 10:59 AM
Love the application of Hero's journey Mythology and Joseph Campbell to business, branding, and entrepreneurship!

You'll enjoy the articles and videos here:
http://herosjourneyentrepreneurship.org/

A vast demand exists for the classical ideals performed in the contemporary context--for honor, integrity, courage, and committment--on Wall Street and Main Street, in Hollywood and the Heartland, in Academia and Government. And thus opportunity abounds for entrepreneurs who keep the higher ideals above the bottom line--for humble heroes in all walks of life.

The Hero's Journey Entrepreneurship festival aims to be a most useful event for students, teachers, and anyone starting or launching a venture.

The same classical values guiding the rising artistic renaissance will protect the artists' intellectual property. The immortal ideals which guide the story of blockbuster books and movies such as The Matrix, Lord of the Rings, Braveheart, The Chronicles of Narnia, and Star Wars, are the very same ideals underlying the United States Constitution. These classic ideals--which pervade Homer, Plato, Shakespeare, and the Bible--are the source of both epic story and property rights, of law and business, of academia and civilization.

It is great to witness classical ideals performed in Middle Earth, upon the Scottish Highlands, long ago, in a galaxy far, far, away, and in Narnia, but too, such ideals must be perpetually performed in the contemporary context and living language.

A nice feature of this resource is that you can export your story to Kindle for a small fee (approx $10). You be able to read your ebook on your Kindle, or sell it through Amazon. The ebook reads like a normal Kindle ebook, except that choices are included using hyperlinks.

Ken Burns: On Story

What makes a great story? For legendary filmmaker Ken Burns, the answer is both complicated and personal. In this short documentary about the craft of storytelling, he explains his lifelong mission to wake the dead. 1 + 1 = 3 (as well as 2) : some call it Love, or God, or Reason.
