This image is about the KKK leader recruiting another man. They are burning the cross to scare African Americans and other immigrants. In this picture I see the American flag and racisit men in white (The KKK). Theres a man down on one knee starting to be part of the KKK committee. There symbol is very rare to see today. Long ago you saw the KKK symbol often.

This picture shows the damage after the KKK destroyed a city in Oklahoma. In this image buildings, homes, and other facilities have been burnt down by the KKK memebers. The KKK members have been a big problem for African Americans,Jews, and other immigrants. The man looks like an African American visiting where he once lived. Also, seeing what was left over after the horrible damages.

Attory Jack Lacy led the successful prosecution of a former Ku Klux Klansman in a civil-rights-era killing. The man was 69 and killed himself caused by a single gunshot to the head.

1. Ku Klux Klan- An extremist right-wing secret society in the US

- African Americans were the most hated ethnicity by the Ku Klux Klan.

 

2. Committee- A group of people appointed for a specific function, typically consisting of members of a larger group.

- The KKK was a committee that recruited other memebers to join them. 

 

3. Immigrants- A person who comes to live permanently in a foreign country.

- African Americans and Jews were immgrants torwards the KKK committee. 

 

4. Sharecropper- A tenant farmer who gives a part of each crop as rent.

- There were alot of sharecroppers that lived on farms and traded different crops that were produced. 

 

5. Prosecution- The institution and conducting of legal proceedings against someone in respect of a criminal charge.

- A man was charged with prosecution for doing illegal things.

 

6. Civil Rights- The rights of citizens to political and social freedom and equality.

- In the 1800s womens civil rights were not being acknowledged by president Wilson. 

 

7. Era- A long and distinct period of history with a particular feature or characteristic.

- Dinosaurs were alive in a different era than new spieces.

 

8. Attorny- A person appointed to act for another in business or legal matters. 

- People that have a good attorney get away with alot of things in the court room. 

 

8. Klansman- a member of the Ku Klux Klan

- The klansman was prosecuted with alot of murder charges. 

 

9. Recruit- Form (an army or other force) by enlisting new people.

- The KKK members had to recruit more men in order to grow nationally. 

 

10. Facilities- Space or equipment necessary for doing something.

- There were different facilities long ago back then with the KKK committee and more groups.

I believe this image is a newsletter explaing when the KKK is meeting with each other. They have a set schedule for their KKK meeting. They will meet on Saturday, October 4th in Madison, Wis. Judge Chas. B. Orbison has a lecture to share about the KKK at 3:00. Their meeting will start at 1:00 and will end at 10:00. At the meeting there will be drinks served and also food. Everybody is welcome to come and join.
