Prof. Bangsbo empfiehlt die 30-20-10 Formel vor allem Hobbyläufern. 2 Einheiten nach diesem Muster kombiniert mit einem "traditionellen" Ausdauerlauf hält er für optimal. Denn das Problem mit ausschließlichem Intervaltrainings ist nach seiner Auffassung, dass Hobbyläufer dabei irgendwann die gemütlichen Ausdauerläufe vermissen. Deshalb: Die Mischung macht's.
