Patricia D. Sadar - Career and Leadership Acceleration Coach's comment, August 23, 2013 9:33 AM
Thank you for your insights! Donna, whether we are talking about a library or any other business. I think that it all depends on who my customers are. Who are they, what is important to them, and how can I add value. How can we as a business adapt, evolve, and respond to what our customer need from us. The art of story telling helps us to communicate in a way that we not only reach the minds of our audience...we also connect emotionally.

I can’t say this often enough: If you want to have people circling you, first you should be doing this to people yourself.

There are lots of lists and suggestions for all interests and you can ask people to share their circles with you directly, either in private or publicly.
Try searching Google+ for "shared a circle with you" and save the search, then you'll have a never ending supply of interesting people, recommended by the Plussers.

Is Your Foundation Strong, or Crumbling?

Social Networks, particularly Google+, can be immensely rewarding and valuable, both personally and professionally. They're a tool with with you can connect with and engage all kinds of other people.

But in order for those relationships to last, they have to be built on a strong foundation. In a nutshell, that means being a Good Social Citizen. The problem is, Google won't tell you what that means. Just because you've created a Google+ account, that doesn't mean you'll automatically know what you should and shouldn't do.
