How great leaders inspire action

How great leaders inspire action | KM | Scoop.it
Simon Sinek has a simple but powerful model for inspirational leadership -- starting with a golden circle and the question "Why?" His examples include Apple, Martin Luther King, and the Wright brother
Rémy Ginoux's insight:
this guy has got big talent : According to me, he just succeeded in explaining me something not really obvious - what are the levers of some famous influencers-leaders to make successes - with simple words and clear sketches. the #tipsoftheweek is in futur just focus on : - defining my 'why' vision - focusing on explaining to early adopters - and convincing the early majority !

To illustrate contents, one extract :

"For companies, the capacity to adapt is not an option, but a crucial matter.

This necessary mutation, under competitors, clients and partners pressure, requires them to reinvent their work, especially because employees are more and more numerous to integrate the digital culture and are asking for a work environment on a par with the challenges they are facing. ! "

From the Knowledge Economy to the Human Economy - HBR

From the Knowledge Economy to the Human Economy - HBR | KM | Scoop.it
In an age of increasingly smart computers, what makes human workers valuable?
Rémy Ginoux's insight:

Excellent analysis, A 'Must read' I recommend.

I especially appreciated this formula where the author played with words : "Instead of leveraging their brawn, companies capitalized on their brains. No longer hired hands, they were hired heads."... two little small letters, but it makes the huge differences, with imaging the Culture transformation expected to move from Industrial to the Social Business era,

The author Dov Seidman found also a magical way with this remarkable example (I let you read it) to illustrate the differences between Information/processes based decision Model and Knowledge Based Decision model where '(Belief in) Humanity' is fully part of the model.

I must thank Audrey Depeige for having shared this inspirational article with her KM Communiyt of interest.

Skills and knowledge are the key creators of value in a knowledge economy. CEOs get it, and told Gartner that skills and talent are their biggest constraint to growth, in the firm’s annual CEO survey
Rémy Ginoux's insight:

Coveo core Business relates to ESO. here you have an interesting analysis from Diane Berry, COVEO CKE :  She introduced herself as Chief Knowledge Evangelist, I guess it match really well what daily work for #KM Culture transformation involved workers looks like.

She emphasizes several important point which is connected to KM related topic : to grow up resources skills and competences.

And to do that in the right way, she highlight 3 main levers to take care of :

- To improve information and knowledge fIndability to capture what the user wants

- To federate Search, to deliver what the user wants

- To personalize results of search AND to suggest what and who the user should care about.

If we consider that 90% of world's data have been generated over last two years, it give fully sense for Companiies to extremely take care of Big data, Master data, and  all those Knowledge Management related domains like ESO.

Putting the Knowledge in Knowledge Bases

Across the spectrum of the Knowledge and Information Management services offered by Enterprise Knowledge, one of the common themes of late has been the design and development of knowledge bases for helps desks and call centers.  We’ve all heard the phrase that content is king, recognizing that knowledge and information management systems are only as good as the information within them.  This is especially true for knowledge bases, where getting quick access to a complete set of meaningful “answers” is directly related to customer satisfaction and end user service.T

Knowledge Management appeared officially in ISO 9001 revision 2015 ! | KM | Scoop.it
Revision ISO 9001:2015
Rémy Ginoux's insight:

Because Business has changed a lot from 2000's, ISO9001 revision 2015 is ongoing, ambition is to adjust this International Standard to newest Knowledge related ways of working, indeed Knowledge Management is entering officially in chap7.1.5 !

It's probably the really first time it's recognized internationally KM as fully part of business model In 2015.

I guess even if it's a still-young discipline, Companies which will expect to conserve ISO9001 certification will need to integrate KM and social approach to their setup within the 3 coming years, definitively a terrific enabler to support KM adoption.

On constructing a Knowledge Management Pyramid model

Rémy Ginoux's insight:

Pure serendipity, Today I was looking for a contact within a Global Company and then I found and be attracted from this university work and this document Title: "on constructing a Knowledge Management  Pyramid Model".

I've probably been grabbed as I'm striving Currently how to setup a GLobal Survey in order to assess my organization, my Company from KM practices and Culture. Then, I took a while to read it and the more I was reading, the more it makes me really interested in

I thought this student has done a terrific analysis about the possible setup we might adopt in companies to launch and strive to assess our Organizations about KM and collaborative business approach.

Particularly interesting to see how it's still up to date, almost 10 years after.

Read it and share your comment,

Is Social Business Just Knowledge Management 2.0?

Is Social Business Just Knowledge Management 2.0? | KM | Scoop.it
Alan Hamilton asks if social business is just an iteration of Knowledge Management 2.0.
Rémy Ginoux's insight:

!When it comes to Knowledge Management, I often talk about "Social business' approach. Important to say that except the human centered factor, it doesn't relates directly with this concept developped and promoted from Dr Muhammad Yunus.

Here in this news from Alan Hamilton, I found a short and efficient way to define KM related Social business approach :

"Social Business is about encouraging people to share what they know, to feel good about doing so, establish relationships with others in the organization which span the organization tree and genuinely do something extraordinary"

what do you think about, efficient, right?

I appreciated here also this analysis between KM & Social business model, where they are working finally as a twin : Both might composed and contribute to the Complete Company knowledge related Device.

I might have to copy and paste a lot of parts of this paper as it is so excellent. A good way to explain the crucial setup of Implementing KM and social business Governance and roles all among the complete organization to support the Social business Transformation !

Really well explained from the author : "As a community manager, these individuals become the cheerleaders for social business and deserve your virtually undivided attention. They need to be nurtured, cared for, given positive constructive feedback and encouraged to push on the social business wheel to overcome the inertia of the organization.", well written from this authors

The biggest challenge?

Walking the talk !
