Ooh ooh ooh -- this article is really cool! Add this to your arsenal about why oral or in-person storytelling is a higher leverage point than just audio stories.


This article makes the point that reading a story creates more engagement with it because more of the brain and body is engaged. We already know that oral storytelling is a whole brain/whole body experience that often trumps reading. The research shared here has important ramifications for anyone producing content.


The researchers demonstrate that people who listen to stories (like podcasts or books on tape) are more easily distracted. That means your ability to connect, engage, and shift perceptions is compromised. And compromised a lot, according to this research.

What a great way to spend a rainy Saturday or Sunday. At least here in Southern California that's what we've got -- finally!


Anyway, not only does this free workbook have great eye-candy because of its graphics, I also find it very useful  for lead generation.


Where do stories come in? There's a solid 'Buyer Persona' worksheet that will help you build strong characters for your stories. And the 'Buyer Journey' worksheet is also another kind of story structure template. So is the 'Landing Page' worksheet.


I just wish the author had placed more emphasis on storytelling front and center as a key ingredient. But we can't always get what we want :))


In any event, it's a worthwhile piece and certainly puts all the mechanics of lead generation into one place. Enjoy working through the worksheets and growing your business!
