This was a very interesting article. It made a very good argument as to why some DJs are taking shortcuts. I believe that the author is credible. He is a writer for BBC and has published other reputable work. There is also a lot of good quotes from people in the industry included in the article. Overall, this is an insightful and reputable article.

Pro: DJ Mixer for Spotify is useful for aspiring DJs who spin at small gigs like parties and wedding receptions. All they need is an iPad and the free app itself.

Cons: However, because it is a free service the app uses Spotify’s “Core” API, which breaches the API terms of use.

Alex Capps's curator insight, November 9, 2014 4:14 PM

Spotify has created a free app for iPad that gives users the ability to mix their favorite songs through user created playlists. Originally it was available for purchase through the app store, but when notified that they were breaking API's terms of use, they had to remove it from the app store.
