Kendrick Lamar's verse on 'Control', in my opinion, has returned the pressure to artists world-wide; challenging them to rhyme with more lyrical content and creativity.  
Pro: Artist have responded by upping the ante and rising to the callenge; giving H3's (Hip-Hop Heads) entertainment. It also announced the end of the debate sessions on who's the greatest, and proclaimed the re-emergance of the show and prove era. 
Con: Due to the unpredictability in the trends of music, and who's at the fore-front of the game, one could argue that: There's already enough competetion as it is in the music industy, and the last thing artists need to worry about is: How to reply to a diss that may negativley impact their careers.

In my opinion, you souldn't diss your friends; the main two reasons I say this are: One, you may never know when you've offended someone, or crossed the line of no return; two: Depending on the actions and responses, things can take a turn for the worse and quickly escalate out of control. I added this article to my scoops because: I had some speculations about the intent of the verse, and I feel this particular atricle helped me to attain a fraction of the motives and thoughts behind the event.
