Patricia Daniels's comment, June 8, 9:42 AM
Thanks for this comprehensive list. I teach via Skype and use Google hangout and Facetime with some students, friends and uni; colleagues. I don't know why more isn't made of these tools. Saves time and money. Any many of them are great for collaborative work.
Patricia Daniels's curator insight, June 8, 9:50 AM

A very comprehensive list here of video conferencing tools. I use Skype to teach English as a second language but fallback on Google Hangout and Facetime if we have any technical issues. Not that I've had any issues with Skype, but more my connection when I'm travelling.

When I've got some extra time I'm going to work my way through this list as I see there are a couple that don't require signing in, or downloading of software, which is useful when you want to communicate synchronously with people who are suspicious about logging in to any tools or who don't have the capacity for extra downloads.

Exploiting Infographics for ELT

Exploiting Infographics for ELT | Keep learning | Scoop.it

For those of you who haven’t encountered the term ‘infographic’ before, an infographic is a visual representation of, what is often, quite dense statistical information. This is the kind of information which can be very difficult to read as prose / text, but which, when transformed to a visual, can become accessible very quickly.

The World’s Largest Repository of Free Online Learning Tutorials

The World’s Largest Repository of Free Online Learning Tutorials | Keep learning | Scoop.it

Here’s a common scenario. Someone emails and asks about an elearning tutorial I have on the blog. It’s not always easy to find the specific tutorial buried in a given post. In fact, there are many times I either forgot that I had created that tutorial or I can’t recall where it’s at either. I know. It’s part of getting older.

Today I am going to fix that. I have listed every blog post that has a video tutorial that shows how to create something related to online learning. So, if you’re just getting started with building online learning courses (or new to the blog), now you have a handy resource with links to all sorts of rapid elearning tutorials.
