Combien de temps le mythe de la sécurité Mac va-t-il encore tenir?

Combien de temps le mythe de la sécurité Mac va-t-il encore tenir? | Keep learning | Scoop.it

The World’s Largest Repository of Free Online Learning Tutorials

The World’s Largest Repository of Free Online Learning Tutorials | Keep learning | Scoop.it

Here’s a common scenario. Someone emails and asks about an elearning tutorial I have on the blog. It’s not always easy to find the specific tutorial buried in a given post. In fact, there are many times I either forgot that I had created that tutorial or I can’t recall where it’s at either. I know. It’s part of getting older.

Today I am going to fix that. I have listed every blog post that has a video tutorial that shows how to create something related to online learning. So, if you’re just getting started with building online learning courses (or new to the blog), now you have a handy resource with links to all sorts of rapid elearning tutorials.

How The Internet Actually Works, Simplified. [Infographic] | Education Technology and Teacher Tools – Edudemic | Keep learning | Scoop.it

Right now you’re looking at a website. Okay you’re actually looking at a computer which is displaying a website. Stop being so picky.

So what actually goes into the creation of a website? Into the actual running of the Internet itself? I’m not talking about the people wfriting the content or designing web pages, etc. I’m talking about the hardware that it takes to keep your favorite sites and LOLcats humming right along on the Internet superhighway.

Thanks to an infographic by Broadband Choices, it’s now easier to understand the mess system behind each website. Enjoy!

Lou Salza's curator insight, November 28, 2013 11:14 AM

This is particularly important for students with language learning differences--Lou

Excerpt:

"...“There’s something about writing that is a link to your brain,” said Marissa Moss, author of the popular children’s book series Amelia’s Notebook. In the books, Moss takes on the persona of a little girl expressing her ideas about the world and people around her. The books are a combination of words and drawings and look free form – as though Amelia sketched them herself.

Taking a cue from Moss, teachers from Oak Knoll Elementary School in Menlo Park, Calif., decided to have their students keep notebooks in a similar style. The notebooks aren’t graded; rather, they’re a place of private, free expression. Karen Clancy and Andrea Boatright presented the project at the Innovative Learning Conference hosted by the Nueva School recently.

“They’re not used to being given permission to write about whatever they want,” Clancy said. But once her students realized that they really weren’t being graded and that they had freedom of expression, they eventually came to demand time to write.

Moss says writing without fear of consequences is key to developing a writer’s voice. “If you’re perfect you are guaranteed to not write a thing,” Moss said. “It’s like driving with one foot on the gas and one foot on the break.” She has developed some guides to help teachers coax students into using art and writing in their journals at the same time, as a way of flexing their visual thinking along with literacy...."

The Innovative Educator: Five Things Students Want Their Teachers to Know about Online Learning

The Innovative Educator: Five Things Students Want Their Teachers to Know about Online Learning | Keep learning | Scoop.it

Kids love having the opportunity to learn online but it’s not merely the medium or the technology that students enjoy. At the recent iNacol Virtual Schools Symposium I listened to high school students who have experience learning this way as well as teachers who have experience with these students, share some advice for making this type of learning even better.

Here is their advice as well as suggestions for tools that teachers can use to heed this advice.
