I love how author Patricia Brown states in her opening paragraph: Unlike “using” technology, which can seem more like an arbitrary afterthought, integrating technology can be a planned, purposeful part of the classroom environment

I'm hoping this is becoming more common knowledge but it is worth repeating until we no longer see tech being used as very expensive pencils/worksheets.

My absolute favorite is number 2: Let Them Choose Their Own Books. Wow - what a novel (no pun intended) idea in a world where school libraries are being pushed to level their holdings and teachers tell them they need to pick "one on their level and one for fun." Really? We're still doing that? Share this article with your building admins and teachers.
