Easy iPad Management for Education- At Scale!

Easy iPad Management for Education- At Scale! | JUST TOOLS | Scoop.it

iPad deployment includes all of the steps between buying an iPad and beginning to use the device. For an individual’s personal iPad, this is often a very fast and easy process lasting no longer than five minutes: You just open the box, turn it on, download the apps you want on your device, and go. But for a school, or district, with potentially hundreds of iPads–each one requiring a specialized list of apps that need to be purchased before protecting the devices with a case and sending them out to classrooms. As an administrator or teacher, there are a few things you will need to know before you deploy your iPads

Writing Learning Objectives: Beginning With the End in Mind

Via Ricardo Martinez, Mark E. Deschaine, PhD

Ricardo Martinez's curator insight, October 21, 2014 9:24 PM

This file gives a good over view of using and writing objectives. The two things  I like about this file are that it gives some examples of what good objectives look like because other sources focused definitions and explain what to do. Example help to get a better feel of what objectives should look like. The other bit I like about this file is the recommendation to do peer to peer editing.

Andrew Troxel's comment, October 22, 2014 11:16 PM
This is an excellent resource for writing instructional objectives. It does a fantastic job breaking down the process into its simplest form. I will definitely use this as I prep for essential questions that relate to my content. Thanks again for curating a helpful piece!
Melissa Wicklund's comment, October 26, 2014 1:44 PM
What a great resource to use while writing instructional objectives. The file does a nice job of going step by step in the process and allowing connections to the content. The use of example objectives also is helpful to see the layout and format being used in correctly writing instructional objectives. Thanks for sharing!

1:1 iPad Initiative: A Four Year Study & Review - Te@chThought

1:1 iPad Initiative: A Four Year Study & Review - Te@chThought | JUST TOOLS | Scoop.it
The Franklin Academy High School implemented a 1:1 iPad deployment a the beginning of the 2010-2011 school year. Over the course of the next two school years, the pilot was expanded to include all grades 9-12 in the high school. This deployment has reached 475 high school students and all teaching staff. Our K-8 program deployed iPads across the grade levels in the form of class sets and mobile carts.

This study targeted our 1:1 deployment at the high school to investigate the impact the device has had on teaching and learning. The survey used to gather the student data was administered in April of 2014. Students included in the survey used the device anywhere from 1 to 4 years. The students use the iPad while at school and home.

Results of the survey hope to shed light on the impact the use of the iPad has had on academic gains as well as the development of the most important non-cognitive skills our program is founded upon.

Essentials for crafting eLearning objectives

Essentials for crafting eLearning objectives | JUST TOOLS | Scoop.it
Like a basement for a building, a learning objective is very important for an eLearning course. From an instructional designer’s point of view, it helps decide what content to include and what to exclude. It forms the basis for framing the assessment questions. From the learner’s point of view, it tells him what he is going achieve after completing the course. Its gives a clear idea about what the course teaches them.
