Ericsson - Cool Digital Storytelling

The brief: show how a ‘multi-purpose, multi-technology network node enables operators to meet their three priorities in relation to data traffic explosion: differentiation,…...

LOL -- the text above makes this Ericsson digital story sound so boring! But the video is great.

Here Ericsson takes a thorny problem (overloaded data networks) and turns it into an engaging story. There's a problem, challenges to overcome, and a resolution.

And the design of the entire digital story is quite unique.

Is it a story? Is it an ad? Is it a promo piece? Yes to all, and is a great example of all 3 intersecting.

Enjoy this short video and get inspired!

The Role of Mobile in the Transmedia Brand Narrative

The Role of Mobile in the Transmedia Brand Narrative | Just Story It | Scoop.it

"Aware of location, sensitive to time, and ever connected, the mobile medium delivers contextual relevance to brand communications and allows marketers to truly engage consumers in the moment."

I like that this article summarizes how to think more creatively about sharing your stories across different media -- and how marketing on mobile phones demands another layer of creative thinking.

I'm still digesting all the ideas I'm getting from reading this article, and I know it will take me awhile to figure out exactly what steps I want to take in sharing my brand story in a mobile environment.  I hope this article stimulates your thinking in the same way!

Stories on the Go! Digital Storytelling with Mobile Devices

Simple K12 presentation! Find the resources here: http://tinyurl.com/shellyterrell

Here's a great resource that was created for teachers, but you can use it too in your business. The presentation lists a variety of story apps for both the iPad and Android platforms that you can use to create or record and then broadcast your business stories.

Now how cool is that?!  I don't care for the two videos included in the slide deck. And business readers will have to do some translation from the classroom to business. But other than that, this presentation should give you some great ideas for using mobile in your business storytelling.

One Picture Stories - Stories pictured, written and painted with an iPhone

One Picture Stories - Stories pictured, written and painted with an iPhone | Just Story It | Scoop.it
My digital storytelling projects: iPhone-made stories » http://t.co/zma66QY #1picstory...

How inventive!  And yes, it is possible to share a story with a pic and few words.  These are closer to story triggers than true stories -- but they are good.  What's a story trigger?  It's sensory material that sparks a story within us -- we remember a similar story, or a time or an experience from our past, or imagine the same.

Regardless, these iPhone stories are a hoot.  The take-away for businesses?  As you are creating your mobile websites, play with sharing one or more of your stories in this format.  Could be fun and engaging.

Enjoy these stories!
