The number of online college students age 18-24 doubled since 2012 (it's not only "old" online students anymore). Myth #2 implies that campus time is indeed - against the myth - important to online students. But that's based on "75% have been on campus at least once a year". Anyway, you don't necessarily need a campus to support the online students' desire for meeting people offline: there are already networks for MOOC users in place which make it easy to connect on a local level in many countries (US, UK, Germany, Spain and many more).

The project, led by 12 universities and companies in 8 European countries, will provide access to MOOCs in different languages using automatic transcription. First MOOCs featuring mutiple languages will go live in September. Interesting approach and it sure won't be an easy task judging by the quality of available automatic translators: try feeding this paragraph to Google translate and have some serious fun...).
