MIAMI BEACH (CBSMiami) — Armed with an iPad and references to pop culture, one local Rabbi will host a Sunday night service celebrating Rosh Hashanah by straying a little from tradition.
Presided over by Rabbi Amy Morrison of Temple Beth Shalom, the Jewish High Holiday service will include traditional touches, but will also allow congregants to text their transgressions anonymously to a 5-foot screen located behind Rabbi Morrison.
Such texting deviates from Jewish tradition, in which smartphones are looked down upon by the elder Jewish population.
The unique service, held at the Jewish Museum of Florida in Miami Beach, is geared towards 20- and 30-somethings who are unlikely to attend a formal service at a synagogue...
