Muslims masquerade as Hindus for India jobs

Muslims masquerade as Hindus for India jobs | JessDeadyGeo200 | Scoop.it
Facing religious discrimination in the Hindu-dominated job market, many are forced to assume fake identities.

Via Seth Dixon
Jess Deady's insight:

In the marketplace, one of a different religion has to mask her true identity to be able to sell the food there. Not only is this woman facing pure discrimination she is facing it because of what she believes in. Nothing is more horrible than being stripped away from something you believe in. In order for her to sell food in this marketplace, she must do so to survive.

Tracy Galvin's curator insight, May 4, 2:16 PM

It is sad that this kind of discrimination exists in the world. I will never understand how the religion you follow affects how you wash the dishes or cook the food while you are at work.

Religion: The main religion in India is Hindu. Since this is so widely practiced in India, other religions are discriminated. This article explains how some people have to act like they practice Hindu just to get a job.

Jess Deady's insight:

First article.

Go figure that someone will go to jail if they are caught spying on electoral votes. That should be an outrageous crime and having people in the regime do so is highly unethical. Winners win and losers lose. Thats the purpose in voting after all.

Can India model itself on Gujarat? | JessDeadyGeo200 | Scoop.it
India's Gujarat state has seen rapid economic growth over the past 10 years, but will its development model work across India?
Jess Deady's insight:

India needs some help in the modeling department. Malnourished children, overcrowded homes and yet they are building new structures all over the place. How can India keep living like this if their nation as a whole has not quite come together as one?

South Sudan needs this oil hub back. With South Sudan being such a new country, many other countries are looking for it to fail. Having high hopes and having their oil hub back, maybe South Sudan will come out on top and prove to the world its stature.

Money, money, money. Does anyone talk about anything other than money? Portugal has been broke for quite some time. In order for them to get back on their feet they are exiting the bailout without asking for an emergency stash.
