The problem with most contracts is that they don't allow for any flexibility.  When I set up a contract with a client, flexibility is one of the key ingredients - for both sides.  Given the rate of change of both the business world and the world of technology, you have to be able to adapt - quickly, and inexpensively - so that needs are met all around.
