Organisational culture is a key topic in BUSS4 and we looked at this during our BUSS4 revision workshops in the context of the cultural issues facing Kraft Foods and Cadbury as they try to make a success of their recent horizontal integration. ...
Joe Hickling's insight:
Its old but useful. Kraft could come in and change the whole way Cadbury operate they could get rid of staff, they could move the HQ of Cadbury to the US if they liked they own the business. If they were to stay in the UK would they still allow Cadbury to be ran in the Cadbury way? Will current staff at Cadbury adopt the Kraft way? One thing is for sure what ever Kraft decide they have to be very careful about how they implement any form of new culture as they risk upsetting the current staff and possibly the whole of the UK.
