Usually, consulting a social security disability lawyer prior to applying for benefits offers a couple of advantages to the applicant and increases the odds of having the claim approved at the first instance. Top Reasons to Hire a Social Security Disability Eligibility Lawyer

Top Reasons to Hire a Social Security Disability Eligibility Lawyer | Jan Dils | Scoop.it

The United States Social Security Administration (SSA) implements two programs that provide assistance to citizens with debilitating conditions who are consequently unable to work. The Social Security Disability Insurance (SSD) is mainly for workers who have worked and have been paying contributions to the SSA for the minimum number of years. Meanwhile, the Supplemental Security Income (SSI), in collaboration with the applicant’s state government, provides payments to low-income earners.

These disability programs are designed to provide assistance to disabled workers. Despite those good intentions, many applicants find the disability claims process rather complicated and even get denied the benefits they deserve.

The Need for Capable Social Security Lawyers for Disability Claims

The Need for Capable Social Security Lawyers for Disability Claims | Jan Dils | Scoop.it
In America, those whose physical disabilities are hindering them from being properly employed for work can receive income supplements in the form of Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI). The SSDI is payroll tax-funded, and carefully managed by the Social Security Administration (SSA). Ideally, the insurance should be readily available to all those whose conditions leave them without a job, however, the SSA can be very particular about who receives the insurance and who does not, leaving out even those in most need of financial support. Those whose applications were not accepted still have a fighting chance to receive benefits. Submitting an appeal can help, since it gets the authorities to review and reexamine the applicant’s case. Of course, it would greatly help if applicants could better articulate their case to truly secure the benefits they need.

Settling Your Social Security Disability Eligibility for Benefits

Settling Your Social Security Disability Eligibility for Benefits | Jan Dils | Scoop.it
Social Security Disability Insurance, or SSDI, is the government’s way of helping those whose physical handicaps or medical conditions are preventing them from retaining a decent job. As handy as this initiative is, federal law is very strict with what it considers as a “disability”. Those who fail to match the government’s definition of a person with disability will not be qualified for the benefits. While there are good reasons why the restrictions on SSDI applications exist (to prevent fraud, for instance), the rules can sometimes be detrimental to those who actually need the insurance. There have been numerous cases where even the most debilitating medical conditions were unfairly snubbed by Social Security, simply because the authorities could not determine whether the applicants were unfit for work or not.

Certain disabilities can prevent individuals from working and providing for their families or themselves as they normally do. To uplift this burden, the United States Social Security Administration (SSA) regulates disability programs that provide cash benefits for disabled individuals. The SSA has its own criteria for “disability”, which members must meet in order to receive claims. A Look at Some Social Security Disability Eligibility Requirements

A Look at Some Social Security Disability Eligibility Requirements | Jan Dils | Scoop.it
Social Security Disability Insurance, or SSDI, was made to provide income supplements to people who are unable to work because of a disability, usually physical. The SSDI can be supplied as either a temporary or permanent solution, typically depending on whether the disability of the person is temporary or permanent. It does not rely on the income of the person receiving it, unlike with Supplemental Security Income. Any person of any income level can receive SSDI if he or she is legitimately disabled. The length of the process of getting SSDI would depend on the area where the person lives as well as the severity of their condition, and it is very much a possibility to have a claim rejected and be forced to have a hearing before an Administrative Law Judge. On average, a claim may take just around three months to process. The disability benefits don’t usually begin until 5 months after the established onset of the disability.
