Fix iTunes Sync Error - This iPhone Cannot Be Used Because The Apple Mobile Device Service Is Not Started

iTunes as we all know is the back bone of every iPhone, iPad and iPod. It is the sole medium through which you can add or remove data from your apple device. iTunes helps the iOS users bu not just taking regular backups but also in syncing new data into the device like music, videos, TV shows etc. Perhaps every thing you find in your device is coming from iTunes. What if there is some problem and you are unable to sync your device ? Is there any alternate for iTunes that will allow you to do all the operations that are presently handled efficiently by iTunes ?    There is common iTunes sync error that happens with windows users - this iPhone cannot be used because the apple mobile device service is not started - It is quite an infuriating situation where you pull your hair to get iTunes sync iPhone but it wouldn't and you really can't do anything. There is a simple work around to fix such iTunes error that prevents in syncing the device.    Explanation : The error message is pretty clear - the service that is mandatory to make the sync between iPhone and iTunes happen is not running and its quite obvious that sync won't happen. You need to try to re-enable the apple mobile device service that has stopped for some reason. The reason could be either your antivirus blocking the service or you have configured your windows such that it wouldn't let any start up service other than the necessary service to run (diagnostic mode) How to Fix iTunes Sync Error

Following the below steps, one can restore the apple mobile device service that is blocked and is not running for some reason.

Step 1 : Update and re-install iTunes. Yes this is the dumbest thing to do but sometimes, installation files could get corrupt and some thing leads to another. Try re-installing iTunes and if this does not help, proceed with the next step.

Step 2 : Click on the windows icon (Windows 7 & Windows Vista users) and type "msconfig" and press enter. Windows xp users click on start=> run => type "msconfig" and press enter

Once you type "msconfig" and press enter, you should see a pop up box like the screenshot below Click on Startup to check if any Apple services are blocked. Make sure that all Apple startup program are running. Click on Manufacturer, this will help you sort the programs with the manufacturers name. If you see any Apple program that is not checked,  you might want to check it. Now, click on the services tab to check if any of the Apple service are blocked or disabled. The three Apple services need to be enabled always. There is no reason to disable the services. If you disable Apple Mobile Device service, your iOS device will no longer get recognized when you connect it to your computer. Similarly, if you disable bonjour service, you won't be able to launch iTunes and will get the error message saying - bonjour service is disabled.

Make sure you enable all the Apple service by clicking on Manufacturer that will sort the services in stack according to the manufacturer. Enable the following services :

Apple Mobile Device Bonjour Service iPod Service   Step 3 : Once done, click on OK and restart your computer. This should probably fix the issue and you should now be able to sync your device in iTunes. If the error persists, you need to disable your antivirus or check and manually whitelist Apple Mobile Device service in order to allow the antivirus to run apple services.    If the above steps did not help you fix the problem, leave a comment with the following details:   Windows version Antivirus installed in your computer Device that you are trying to sync

New Redsn0w 0.9.14b2 iPhone 3GS 6.15 Baseband Downgrade Released ~ Geeky Apple - The new iPad 3, iPhone iOS6 Jailbreaking and Unlocking Guides | Jailbreak News, Guides, Tutorials | Scoop.it
Updated Redsn0w iPhone3GS 6.15 baeband downgrade released 4th July Redsn0w direct download links iPhone 4GS 6.15 updated redsn0w baseband downgrade download.

The iPhone Dev-Team has just announced Redsn0w 0.9.14b2 which is an update to the existing version of redsn0w that allows users to downgrade the iPad 6.15 baseband. Following the issues with various iPhone3GS users, musclenerd has looked into it and finally released an update to the Redsn0w. The new Redsn0w should fix all downgrade issues and will also help users with broken iPhone buttons to enter DFU mode without having to follow the button instructions.

The iPhone Dev-Team has also provided the revised steps to successfully downgrade iPhone3GS 6.15 baseband. It goes like this:

Connect your iPhone in normal mode, then click “Jailbreak” after redsn0w identifies its model and BB version (you needn’t pre-select the IPSW anymore). Choose the “Downgrade from iPad baseband” option (you needn’t worry about de-selecting Cydia anymore). Do a controlled “slide to power off” shutdown of your phone and proceed through the normal DFU ramdisk steps. IMP : iPhone3GS which were manufactured in early 2011 are not compatible. They have a NOR chip that cannot be upgraded to 6.15 and trying to flash the iPad baseband will brick your device.
DFU IPSW
This version of Redsn0w is much relieving for those iPhone users who have their buttons broken and cannot enter the DFU mode following the general instructions. To enter DFU mode on a broken iPhone: Launch Redsn0w Go to   Extras->Even More>DFU IPSW  Select the ipsw that is currently been signed for your device or for which you have shsh blobs saved. Redsn0w will create a ENTER_DFU IPSW that you can install with iTunes and once the installation is complete you'll enter into DFU mode. Redsn0w 0.9.14b2 Download Links
