Fix iTunes Sync Error - This iPhone Cannot Be Used Because The Apple Mobile Device Service Is Not Started

iTunes as we all know is the back bone of every iPhone, iPad and iPod. It is the sole medium through which you can add or remove data from your apple device. iTunes helps the iOS users bu not just taking regular backups but also in syncing new data into the device like music, videos, TV shows etc. Perhaps every thing you find in your device is coming from iTunes. What if there is some problem and you are unable to sync your device ? Is there any alternate for iTunes that will allow you to do all the operations that are presently handled efficiently by iTunes ?    There is common iTunes sync error that happens with windows users - this iPhone cannot be used because the apple mobile device service is not started - It is quite an infuriating situation where you pull your hair to get iTunes sync iPhone but it wouldn't and you really can't do anything. There is a simple work around to fix such iTunes error that prevents in syncing the device.    Explanation : The error message is pretty clear - the service that is mandatory to make the sync between iPhone and iTunes happen is not running and its quite obvious that sync won't happen. You need to try to re-enable the apple mobile device service that has stopped for some reason. The reason could be either your antivirus blocking the service or you have configured your windows such that it wouldn't let any start up service other than the necessary service to run (diagnostic mode) How to Fix iTunes Sync Error

Following the below steps, one can restore the apple mobile device service that is blocked and is not running for some reason.

Step 1 : Update and re-install iTunes. Yes this is the dumbest thing to do but sometimes, installation files could get corrupt and some thing leads to another. Try re-installing iTunes and if this does not help, proceed with the next step.

Step 2 : Click on the windows icon (Windows 7 & Windows Vista users) and type "msconfig" and press enter. Windows xp users click on start=> run => type "msconfig" and press enter

Once you type "msconfig" and press enter, you should see a pop up box like the screenshot below Click on Startup to check if any Apple services are blocked. Make sure that all Apple startup program are running. Click on Manufacturer, this will help you sort the programs with the manufacturers name. If you see any Apple program that is not checked,  you might want to check it. Now, click on the services tab to check if any of the Apple service are blocked or disabled. The three Apple services need to be enabled always. There is no reason to disable the services. If you disable Apple Mobile Device service, your iOS device will no longer get recognized when you connect it to your computer. Similarly, if you disable bonjour service, you won't be able to launch iTunes and will get the error message saying - bonjour service is disabled.

Make sure you enable all the Apple service by clicking on Manufacturer that will sort the services in stack according to the manufacturer. Enable the following services :

Apple Mobile Device Bonjour Service iPod Service   Step 3 : Once done, click on OK and restart your computer. This should probably fix the issue and you should now be able to sync your device in iTunes. If the error persists, you need to disable your antivirus or check and manually whitelist Apple Mobile Device service in order to allow the antivirus to run apple services.    If the above steps did not help you fix the problem, leave a comment with the following details:   Windows version Antivirus installed in your computer Device that you are trying to sync

Updated Redsn0w iPhone3GS 6.15 Baseband Downgrade Tool To Release Today - Musclenerd ~ Geeky Apple - The new iPad 3, iPhone iOS6 Jailbreaking and Unlocking Guides

Updated Redsn0w iPhone3GS 6.15 Baseband Downgrade Tool To Release Today - Musclenerd ~ Geeky Apple - The new iPad 3, iPhone iOS6 Jailbreaking and Unlocking Guides | Jailbreak News, Guides, Tutorials | Scoop.it
Updated Redsn0w iPhone3GS 6.15 Baseband downgrade tool releasing today musclenerd iPhone dev-team New redsn0w to downgrade iPhone3GS 6.15 baseband iPhone 3GS 6.15 baseband downgrade tool redsn0w updated 4th july...

A week ago, Musclenerd from the iPhone Dev-Team confirmed that there is a third kind of flash NOR that caused problems for some iPhone 3GS users when trying to downgrade the iPad 6.15 baseband. This resulted in redsn0w showing that baseband downgrade was successful but when the iPad reboots after baseband downgrade attempt, the baseband was unchanged. After quite a  lot of research musclenerd via twitter confirmed that an update to redsn0w will be released to fix all the errors. He also confirmed that changing the payload would fix the issue. Today Musclenerd announced over twitter that an updated version of Redsn0w iPhone 3GS baseband downgrade tool would be released. This updated version of redsn0w will work on those devices which were unable to downgrade the 6.15 baseband. However, musclenerd has also confirmed that this version of redsn0w will not support those devices which could not initially get 6.15 baseband ( newer devices ). He mentioned that the revised payload seems to work fine on the devices that were unable to downgrade earlier.

Here is what he said:

Musclenerd claims to have found a way to change the IMEI of the iPhone3GS. According to him that was the reason causing iPhone users to have no signal because of no reason and the only plausible reason was IMEI. Changing that would apparently fix the signal issue. Also, IMEI changing is considered as illegal in many countries and is punishable by law. The iPhone Dev-Team will not and never release any tool that allows unethical behavior and beaks any laws. When asked if the IMEI changing tool would be released, musclenerd simply mentioned that it is illegal in many countries to change the IMEA and that it would be a bad idea to release such a tool.
