Alfa Romeo shares tasty new 4C sports car pics including interior

Alfa Romeo shares tasty new 4C sports car pics including interior | Italia Mia | Scoop.it

Alfa Romeo released most of the details on its new 4C sports coupe a couple of weeks ago, but they only included a few images to paw over. Now we're finally getting to see some more shots of the car, including our first official look at the interior. The glimpse inside the 4C shows us details we did not see in recent spy shots, details like the flat-bottomed steering wheel with paddle shifters, awesome leather-strap door pulls, heavily bolstered sport seats and copious amounts of exposed carbon fiber.
The new images don't provide a better look at the pushbutton gear selector or the digital instrument gauge cluster, but they do confirm that at least some models will use a traditional ignition key and a manual parking brake. The shots also give us some new exterior angles from which to admire this clean shape. Of course, we only have to wait until next week's Geneva Motor Show to see the 4C in person, so sit tight, we'll shortly bring you plenty of detailed shots of this exciting new coupe.

Fiat 500e – economy, Italian style

Fiat 500e – economy, Italian style | Italia Mia | Scoop.it

Fiat says EPA tests indicate that, when fully charged, the 500e has a best-in-class range of about 87 miles (140 km).
When Fiat puts its 2013 500e on sale in California, the Italian automaker says the subcompact electric vehicle (EV) will deliver the best fuel economy in the industry.
Using a formula developed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the 500e gets a highway rating of 108 MPGe. That translates into the equivalent of 2.18 L/100km. MPGe (miles per gallon equivalent) determines how many miles an EV can travel on battery-generated electricity that contains the same energy content as a gallon of gasoline.
The 500e’s EPA rating for city driving is even higher – 122 MPGe (1.93 L/100km).
Fiat says EPA tests indicate that, when fully charged, the 500e has a range of about 87 miles (140 km), which is better than any EV sold in North America produced by a high-volume manufacturer.
Helping the 500e achieve even greater fuel economy are eight efficiency-inspired exterior enhancements that contribute to a 13% improvement in aerodynamics.
“The Fiat brand is about unique Italian style, fuel efficiency and great value. Now we have taken a page from our own playbook to change the expectations of what an electric vehicle can be,” said Tim Kuniskis, head of Fiat North America.
The zero-emissions 500e has an electric powertrain that produces 111-horsepower. Fiat claims the battery can be recharged in less than four hours with its Level 2 (240 volt) on-board charging module.
The 500e is the latest vehicle in the ever-expanding Fiat 500 line-up, which also includes the 500 Abarth, 500 Abarth Cabrio and 500 Turbo. In 2013, Fiat will also introduce the larger 500L – an all-new five-passenger vehicle that will compete in the B segment.
