FCC revised net neutrality rules reveal cable company control of process • The Register

Who is Darth Pai? He is The FCC chairman that came to destroy the internet as we've known it and hand it lock stock and barrel to internet providers and cable cable companies to rip us off users and consumers and silence our voice and ideas as citizens and innovative thinkers that might give them competition. You only have till July 12 2017 to give the FCC your input

Google Gets Record $2.7 Billion EU Fine for Skewing Searches

Google Gets Record $2.7 Billion EU Fine for Skewing Searches | Occupy Your Voice! Mulit-Media News and Net Neutrality Too | Scoop.it
Google’s record-breaking 2.4 billion-euro ($2.7 billion) European Union fine could end up being just a fraction of the costs from the EU’s demand that it stop skewing search results to favor its own shopping site.
Monica S Mcfeeters's insight:
This is basically how net neutrality works. You are not allowed to rig the net in your own favor by having everyone's data or laying the cables and fibers that mega data runs through or by force my loyalty with penalties. We all know how these data caps try to work. You use what your ISP owns for content or shopping and sponsors without it hurting your data... select the one you want and it counts against your data cap. Sort of like using a doctor out of your HMO pool.... but that is another rig up ....Right? By the way in the USA you have only until July 12 2917 to give the FCC and your Steps and the WH feedback on net neutrality and save the internet as we know it. Let them know you support the rules put in place by Wheeler's Commissioners and do not want them changed just enforced. Without neutrality your small business, favorite local business will have less voice, so will your blogs and church and other nonprofit organizations.

We’ve studied the future of the internet since 2004. Here’s what we’ve learned. (short version)

We’ve studied the future of the internet since 2004. Here’s what we’ve learned. (short version) | Occupy Your Voice! Mulit-Media News and Net Neutrality Too | Scoop.it
Looking ahead, these experts predict more disruption, starting with digital interfaces: They say voice-recognition (think “Siri” and “Alexa”) and “air typing” on connected surfaces of all kinds will become mainstream activities. A data layer will be superimposed on the physical environment, allowing more context, history, and insight to be gained when people interact with their surroundings. Artificial intelligence will be ever-more-deeply ingrained in decision-making and logistics. Gigabit-enabled applications will be common — as people interact with holograms of others in both artificial and real worlds that otherwise may not be easy to get to. They predict the very notion of “being present” with another person or encountering another place will change. In all, the expert respondents to Center questions argued that by the year 2025, the internet will become “like electricity” — less visible, yet more deeply embedded in people’s lives for both good and ill.

Web inventor Sir Tim Berners-Lee responds to US net neutrality threat

Web inventor Sir Tim Berners-Lee responds to US net neutrality threat | Occupy Your Voice! Mulit-Media News and Net Neutrality Too | Scoop.it
Today Federal Communications Commission (FCC) chairman Ajit Pai made clear he intends to dismantle strong net neutrality protections in the US. If approved,
Monica S Mcfeeters's insight:
I stand with Tim Berners-Lee to support net neutrality and the recent Wheeler regulations put in place to protect the WEB as it was designed to be. Here is where you can sign up to stay informed as the New FCC chairman and others try to destroy the WEB as Tim Bernard-Lee designed it and turn it basically into your old style sponsored content of cable and TV. You only have a short time to comment to the FCC.... you can also flood Representatives to leave these protective regulations in place. 4 million responded before to make it happen and we will need double or triple that to succeed again. Computer geeks are pretty sure bots are filling the comments to support Pia.... look at the comments your self it look like that to me and I'm not a computer pro. Bots can't call the FCC or representatives or our ISPs to complain...I dropped 400 dollars a month services over 4 years to not give AT&T funds to work against me.

Monica S Mcfeeters's insight:

We still make a lot of content marketing mistakes that result in extra unnecessary work or they simply don't serve the business.

Trend Magazine | The Internet of Things Is the Next Digital Evolution—What Will It Mean? | Occupy Your Voice! Mulit-Media News and Net Neutrality Too | Scoop.it
The next digital evolution is the rise of the internet of things—sometimes now called the “internet on things.” This refers to the growing phenomenon of building connectivity into vehicles, wearable devices, appliances and other household items such as thermostats, as well as goods moving through business supply chains. It also covers the rapid spread of data-emitting or tracking sensors in the physical environment that give readouts on everything from crop conditions to pollution levels to where there are open parking spaces to babies’ breathing rates in their cribs.

We Analyzed 100 Million Headlines. Here’s What We Learned (New Research)

We Analyzed 100 Million Headlines. Here’s What We Learned (New Research) | Occupy Your Voice! Mulit-Media News and Net Neutrality Too | Scoop.it

It is difficult to overstate the importance of headlines. A good headline can entice and engage your audience to click, to read, and to share your content. In many cases headlines are the thing that is shared rather than the article. So you knew that. But do you know what makes an engaging headline?

To help answer this question we analyzed 100 million article headlines. We have set out below our findings from the research including the:Cox

- Headline phrases that drive most engagement on Facebook
- Worst performing headline phrases on Facebook
- Most effective phrases that start or end headlines
- Optimum number of words and characters to use in a headline
- Most impactful numbers to use in headlines
- Most engaging Twitter headline phrases
- Differences between B2C and B2B headlines.

While there is no magic formula for creating a viral or popular headline, there are many lessons we can learn to improve our content engagement. We shared our findings with a number of content experts to reflect on the implications of the research for writers. We have included their expert thoughts and advice at the end of this post. We have also included a section on how you can analyze headlines yourself using BuzzSumo.

World Wide Web Foundation

Founded by Tim Berners-Lee, inventor of the Web, the World Wide Web Foundation empowers people to bring about positive change.
Monica S Mcfeeters's insight:
Please join this group founded by the Man that invented the WEB for everybody not just your ISP or any Certain government to control. Regulating and protecting net neutrality means protecting open content access not censoring or selecting content. Hate and threats of violence are illegal online already... through net neutrality open access we can all help by flagging and reporting hate activities and sites online. Then these accounts can be closed by the host server owners and people can be arrested or fined or at the least interrupted and perhaps stopped. Please do not sit back while commercial interest or more Governments take control and ruin the founding principle of open access net neutrality.
