Breaking news: Sprint is throwing in the towel after realizing the regulatory hurdles to buying T-Mobile are two high, according to two news reports. Bloomberg adds that Sprint could be showing CEO Dan Hesse the door.
Monica S Mcfeeters's insight:

Yes! Win now more of us need to encourage both companies to move into more areas to increase competition. We don't need more monopolies. We do need to build these competitive offerings with our business when they make it affordable and deliver good service.  If I can get a good deal and get a connection through them, then ATT is out of there  for me. I already use T-Mobile for my hot spot and usually get a good connection most places even when ATT won't let me connect. due to weakness. We need these companies to compete through improved services, offering and better connections. I'm all for foreign groups to if they are required to find an American 51% co-owner to come here. I have used great service companies when abroad.

Here is a first direct united effort to fight for privacy that I've run across. It is Interesting that the fight comes from the future user base. This should give FB and others reason to consider how they treat would be future users if they intend to stay in business or move on to build trusted new online designs. Reputations stay with you along time if people feel you do them wrong. Trust is hard to get back.

Congressional Progressive Caucus Increasingly Vocal, Critical of Obama IVN News The CPC also calls for changing FCC policy to classify telecommunication services, such as the Internet, as public utilities in order to enable greater regulation of...
Monica S Mcfeeters's insight:

Progressive watch dogs need to go after Obama on this one and every other representative as well that threatens the strong user controlled and influenced foundation of the internet. Our ISP is hired by us to deliver us to where we choose to go one the internet. They need to pay us if instead they want to take us to places they want us to go or divert us one way or another from access to what we pay them to get to and not deliver the service we pay them to deliver by blocking or slowing data....We need to  have their charter of companies with deliberate, poor, online delivery of connections and service revoked and we then charter a company that can deliver the goods!

The regulation CPC are calling for would be a rule, bill or law that says no one including the government can interfere or double charge us when connecting with any legal activities we choose to connect to through our services. This would  prevent the internet to falling evermore into just one huge marketing and misinformation media machine that is driven only for the few rich enough to take control of the messages.

We do not want or need the internet to be like a cable plan package or phone package. Most of us view the internet the same as our main phone line and personal mail which are both classified as common carriers because they are that and so is the internet these days. Many have even dropped their main phone lines and rarely use paper mail. The internet was artificially removed from that status so that big business could intervene, control and profit grossly from their take over of the internet and they can only do that by corrupting policy and policy makers. FCC Chairman Powell back around 2006 or 2007 made this change then went to work through the revolving door as a chief lobbyist for those he rigged the game for. The new chairman of the FCC came from through the same door to finish the deal for the big ISPs and Cable companies.Obama appointed him and nearly no one in either house opposed the appointment. Do we really need to sit on our hands and let that happen?
