This story builds on one I reported a few months ago:

Products such as Google maps coordinate bring solutions such as the one Amtrak and Swiss trains have put together, into the hand of enterprises of all size. For 250$/user/year, you can track and coordinate a delivery team, support technicians or sales reps out in the field with GPS accuracy. Businesses have access to travel history and other features to help report and improve resources on the road.


Stuff that would  have required custom development and dedicated devices is now accessible for anyone with a smartphone and 3G cell connexion. Question then become which companies are willing to make the transformation to leverage this new way of doing things?

Biometrics is coming fast. The reason being that everyone now carries the sensors and advanced processing units in their pockets, readily available in their smartphones. Facial recognition with the front camera is a given since you already have your face in front of the phone while performing the transaction. But how easy will it be to spoof? Will it be enough to hold a photograph in front of the camera? Most probably not. Interesting to follow this development.

Nearly Half have Changed Service Providers in the Last 12 Months IBM recently announced the results of a study that found a massive perception gap between how well businesses think they are marketing and the actual customer's experience. The U.S. study, developed by Econsultancy, found that almost 90 percent of marketers agree that personalizing the customer experience is critical to their success.
