Conversations for Inquiring Minds's insight:

Hooray Sir Charles!  I have known successful African-American Men and they all said the same thing.  It's sad that in that community you have to be a loser to be a "good" black man.  Examples like Barkley, Cosby,  Dr. Ben Carson, all show that race has nothing to do with it - it's the desire to exceed expectation, to be the best that makes  anyone successful.  Let's stop the race-washing and uplift everyone to be the best person they can.  God Bless those that are standing up and telling the truth - it will set them free.

Exclusive: Obama Administration Quietly Prepares 'Surge' Of Millions Of New Immigrant IDs | It Matters | Scoop.it
Despite no official action from the president ahead of the election, the Obama administration has quietly begun preparing to issue millions of work authorization permits, suggesting the implementation of a large-scale executive amnesty may have already begun.
Conversations for Inquiring Minds's insight:

When did Mr. Obama become the Dictator in Chief?  This has to stop!  Our Congress is elected to represent us and it's time they stand up and do their job.  Amnesty needs to be worked out in Congress - not the Executive Branch.  Shame on you Obama Administration!

News from Ken Andrus: More Thoughts on Issues | It Matters | Scoop.it
Conversations for Inquiring Minds's insight:

I personally believe the State (as in government) should have nothing to do with marriage.  My view is that it is a religious right.  As for civil unions - well the government can decide what constitutes that.

I don't mind same sex couples having the same rights I have - but I really don't want the government in my bedroom and no one else should either.

Rep. Andrus has an interesting take on Gay and Lesbian Rights and the challenge to develop meaningful legislation.

Emails show ‘cozy’ ties between EPA, environmental group over power-plant rules, senator says

Emails show ‘cozy’ ties between EPA, environmental group over power-plant rules, senator says | It Matters | Scoop.it
Newly released emails detail what Republicans say are cozy ties between the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and a top environmental advocacy group, raising questions about the group's influence -- and participation -- in the Obama administration's so-called War on Coal.
Conversations for Inquiring Minds's insight:

This is just one example of why we do not want the EPA to change its water definition to control basically all water in the United States.  The EPA has ruined many businesses with their regulations and some cities have lost any hope of higher paying jobs due to the restrictions.

Angry about rising energy prices?  Go no further than the EPA - new emissions standards for power plants and a proposal to slash emissions from existing plants has driven prices higher.  Higher energy prices and gas prices add cost to every single sector - from your commute to the food you buy to the home you try to heat in the winter.

Most of us expect fairness from a group like the EPA but it has only become a way for bureaucrats to control all sectors of our society without one single vote from the citizens of the United States.

Dr. Aileen Marty tells Fusion what she saw fighting Ebola in Nigeria | It Matters | Scoop.it
The Ebola outbreak continues to spiral out of control. Near the epicenter of the epidemic in West Africa, more than 3,400 people have died and more than 7,000 people have been infected with the virus. Officials are scrambling to contain the outbreak at its source and keep it from spreading. The World Health Organization is […]
Conversations for Inquiring Minds's insight:

This is truly a frightening report.  Our Government continues to tell us that we won't have a significant outbreak, yet Dr. Marty says that neither Germany or Miami International Airport cared that she had been in Nigeria for 31 days.  Luckily she's a doctor so is voluntarily following the protocol to make sure she doesn't spread Ebola here; but what about the others?

IRS Seizing Bank Accounts of Innocent Americans

IRS Seizing Bank Accounts of Innocent Americans | It Matters | Scoop.it

Now, the IRS claims that it will stop - but will it?

Conversations for Inquiring Minds's insight:

Is it time for the IRS to go away?  With recent scandals the faith in IRS  fairness has eroded to the point where there is real fear of the agency.  Americans are now at risk of losing their accounts without any due process.  This should strike fear in the heart of any American.

Dems on FEC move to regulate Internet campaigns, blogs, Drudge | WashingtonExaminer.com | It Matters | Scoop.it
In a surprise move late Friday, a key Democrat on the Federal Election Commission called for burdensome new rules on Internet-based campaigning, prompting the Republican chairman to warn that Democrats want to regulate online political sites and even news media like the Drudge Report.
Democratic FEC Vice Chair Ann M. Ravel announced plans to begin the process to win regulations on Internet-based campaigns and videos, currently free from most of the FEC’s rules. “A reexamination of the commission
Conversations for Inquiring Minds's insight:

It's interesting that the Democrats are worried about conservative social media when there was little outcry on the extreme left leaning media.  It's ridiculous!  This can't go through - much of our freedom of speech would be wiped out and the only avenue for getting our thoughts out to large numbers of individuals would cease to exist.  Think about the news we've gotten from around the world.  If this type of censorship is allowed we will go back to the dark ages.

Dr. Manny: CDC director Dr. Tom Frieden should resign

Dr. Manny: CDC director Dr. Tom Frieden should resign | It Matters | Scoop.it
Right now, I’m not as afraid of Ebola as I am of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Conversations for Inquiring Minds's insight:

Dr. Manny is absolutely right, the American people are losing confidence in the CDC.  He points out that the CDC left protocol to the hospitals instead of giving a specific protocol for Ebola.  Now we have an infected nurse and no one would be surprised if more health workers become infected.

Later in Dr. Manny's comments he brings up the fact that Doctors Without Borders has treated many infectious diseases but has not had the infection problem the CDC seems to have.  It seems to me that it is more proof that the Private Sector will always out perform Government Bureaucracy.

Although Dr. Manny's comments speak directly to the failing of the CDC it seems to me it shows a culture of incompetence throughout our Government.  How can we believe anything we're told when the Government seems more interested in protecting itself rather than it's citizens.

NBC News Crew Ordered Into Ebola Quarantine After Breaking Promise

NBC News Crew Ordered Into Ebola Quarantine After Breaking Promise | It Matters | Scoop.it
New Jersey health officials have issued a mandatory quarantine order for an NBC News crew that worked with an American cameraman who contracted Ebola in Liberia, the state health department said Saturday.
Conversations for Inquiring Minds's insight:

If we can't even trust Americans to comply with orders we need to rethink our "plan" to deal with the Ebola issue.  In addition, warnings are now coming through of terrorists infecting themselves coming over the southern border and infecting as many as possible before being removed from the public - we have real problems.

In addition, on Sunday, October 12, 2014, 60 Minutes has an interview with FBI Director Comey stating that we cannot trust our Government.  As things are moving the citizens of the US will face a crisis of faith and all bets are off on the outcome.
