The Poetry Programme - two poets shortlisted for upcoming awards

The Poetry Programme - two poets shortlisted for upcoming awards | The Irish Literary Times | Scoop.it
In the Poetry Programme on 5 March Rick meets two poets shortlisted for upcoming awards.

Connie Roberts is one of 15 siblings who spent their childhoods in Irish industrial schools. She reads poems forged from a harsh childhood from her collection ‘Little Witness’, shortlisted for the Shine/Strong Award.

Caitríona O’Reilly reads from her collection ‘Geis’, shortlisted for the Irish Times Poetry Now Award. The book is also a Poetry Book Society Recommendation.

Finally, we look forward to Peter Duffy’s one-man performance of Patrick Kavanagh’s ‘The Great Hunger’ at Smock Alley Theatre in Dublin from 7th March.
