Sandy Gilchrist's curator insight, June 12, 6:24 AM
This article argues that the IT Act (2000) in India does not deal with data protection.  By way of example, it quotes Section 43A that compensation be paid by corporates negligent in implementation of reasonable safety procedures for private data, which have led to wrongful losses to the affected person or wrongful gains by others.  The article is correct.  The law does not deal with data protection, but Privacy!  And more specifically the punitive effects of not respecting Privacy.  Most importantly, damages don't have to be proven from the perspective of the victim's loss, but crucially WRONGFUL GAINS by others.  This will create a burden of law cases in India for companies that undermine the Privacy of their employees and customers.  The only way to counter this is LifeBank.  Email info@lifebanksystems.com today to find out more and order yours...
