CNN’s head of social news: Twitter forces journos to report better

CNN’s head of social news: Twitter forces journos to report better | iPhoneography attempts and journalism | Scoop.it

“Services like Twitter remind us that reporting just the facts of an event isn’t enough. We all hear about what’s happening from everywhere. What journalists and thinkers and experts in subjects that matter should do is add deep context and understanding to events. "Citizen Journalism 101" iPhone App for Mobile Reporters

"Citizen Journalism 101" iPhone App for Mobile Reporters | iPhoneography attempts and journalism | Scoop.it

The new "Get It Right" iPhone app tries to explain citizen journalism to novices, while mitigating the often-mentioned concerns on the reliability of the reporting activity.

The free app offers a mini-course in field journalism, and it was expressely conceived with non-technical people in mind.

Topics range from the equipment you need on-the-go, to how to verify your sources and break a news the right way.

The Global Media Forum developers who created the app say that an Adroid version is also in the works, and translations into Russian, Arabic and French are planned.
