RNFrostedSidebar : A Control Center-esque control with blurred background and toggle animations.

RNFrostedSidebar : A Control Center-esque control with blurred background and toggle animations. | iPhone and iPad development | Scoop.it

"You'll notice that this control's use of blur does not match Jakub's original design exactly. In the original design the background of the buttons is blurred, while the overlay of the control is simply shaded. There have beenattempts at recreating this effect, but it is rumored that live-blurring takes place at a much lower level on the GPU and there would be security concerns were we to have access.

Apple is being a little deceptive with their use of blurring in iOS 7. Bottom line, don't animate blurs in your designs."

OCFWeb - Embedable web server

OCFWeb - Embedable web server | iPhone and iPad development | Scoop.it

OCFWeb is a web application framework written in Objective-C. You can use OCFWeb to create web applications with just a few lines of code. Although OCFWeb is developed and used by Objective-Cloud.com it does not depend on Objective-Cloud.com. You can use OCFWeb on your own servers (although we prefer you to use Objective-Cloud.com for that :)) and/or in your own OS X/iOS apps. In fact OCFWeb was designed to be embedded in an existing application written in Objective-C. Sinatra, a web application framework/DSL written in Ruby, has inspired the development of OCFWeb.

MSCellAccessory - a UITableViewCell accessoryType can easily customize the colors. | iPhone and iPad development | Scoop.it

MSCellAccessory is a UITableViewCell accessoryType can easily customize the colors.

Many developer really want to customizing UITableViewCell accessoryType color. but, they using a customized png image are solved. but this method is not good. because Unnecessary to create an image file, and each would have to create all colors. and Loading it unnecessarily increases the capacity of the memory.

If using a this library is more easily customizing accessoryType and more flexible via Programmatically.

NSPredicate | iPhone and iPad development | Scoop.it

NSPredicate is a Foundation class that specifies how data should be fetched or filtered. Its query language, which is like a cross between a SQL WHERE clause and a regular expressions, provides an expressive, natural language interface to define logical conditions on which a collection is searched.

Pixate - use css in your ios App

Pixate - use css in your ios App | iPhone and iPad development | Scoop.it

Long gone are the days of tedious image slicing and burdensome revisions just to create custom mobile interfaces. With Pixate, designers and developers alike can conceive, implement, and modify native mobile interfaces effortlessly and in real time through the familiar CSS syntax.

Pixate styles all native iOS controls using standard CSS. To ensure maximum performance and compatibility, Pixate does not require subclassing the native controls or using a custom set of components. See the Pixate Engine for iOS Styling Reference for a complete list of controls and properties.

To experience the power of Pixate you'll need to use Xcode 4.5 or later, and iOS 5.1 or 6.

faceimageview - A UIImageView clone that adjusts image content to show faces.

faceimageview - A UIImageView clone that adjusts image content to show faces. | iPhone and iPad development | Scoop.it

UIImageView clone with a catch:

FaceImageView automatically scales its image to fill the bounds and keep any faces detected in view. This can be useful if you want to display people-based dynamic content with UIViewContentModeScaleToFill but are having issues with it displaying the wrong part of the image, like the background, or someone's feet.

The class uses the CoreImage face detection APIs available in iOS 5.0 or later. This API works in many clear cases, but is not all that reliable. If no faces are detected in an image, FaceImageView defaults to centering the image, like UIImageView's behavior with UIViewContentModeScaleToFill.

A small demo app is included to try out different images and view sizes.

PaperFoldGallery : displays multiple views in a paginated UIScrollView using PaperFold library

PaperFoldGallery : displays multiple views in a paginated UIScrollView using PaperFold library | iPhone and iPad development | Scoop.it
PaperFoldGallery for iOS

The first level is a paginated UIScrollView that displays views in each page. The second level contains 2 PaperFold views that are folded/unfolded/hidden depending on the scroll view offset. These views show a folded screenshot of the views below it, and are hidden once the UIScrollView snaps to page.

The subviews can be any UIView subclasses, so it can be static view, or other views like UITableView.

The library takes a screenshot often to get the state of the view below it. If you are using static views, you can improve the unfolding performance by providing screenshots.

Libraries For Easier Drawing Of Custom UI Elements, CoreImage Filter Enhancements And More

Libraries For Easier Drawing Of Custom UI Elements, CoreImage Filter Enhancements And More | iPhone and iPad development | Scoop.it

SimulatorRemoteNotifications is an iOS library to send (fake) remote notifications to the iOS simulator.

The library extends UIApplication by embedding a mini server that listen for udp packets containing JSON-formated payload.

Note that SimulatorRemoteNotifications does not send notification through Apple's Push Service.

To send a remote notification, send an udp packet to localhost:9930. You can do this from the terminal by using netcat:

echo -n '{"message":"message"}' | nc -4u -w1 localhost 9930

FlatUIKit: a collection of iOS components styled with the "Flat UI" | iPhone and iPad development | Scoop.it

FlatUIKit is a collection of iOS components styled with the "Flat UI" aesthetic that we created while building Grouper for iPhone. Its design inspiration comes from Flat UI and Kyle Miller. Styling is implemented via categories on/drop-in replacements for existing UIKit components, so integrating it into your project is very straightforward.

Scott Davis's comment, May 15, 2013 9:39 AM
This is a debate that rages on and on. The real answer is that there is no PROPER answer. If you prefer to define your controls in the code, that's great. Likewise for the IB fans.
jibees's comment, May 15, 2013 10:08 AM
I agree!
Bertie Liu's comment, May 16, 2013 9:40 PM
i guess the part for figure and graph processing in my brain is not functioning so well as others, so i tend to build up all interfaces with pure codes.

How to make a iPhone video chat

How to make a iPhone video chat | iPhone and iPad development | Scoop.it

In a market flogged with social networking apps, Video chat is a killer weapon that you can wield to ace your rivals on the App store in one go. According to study, 93% of human interactions happen through visual interface.

What the hack. Need to chat face-to-face doesn’t need statistical justification. But how do they work? The question is more of design than of technical implementation in a world full of third parties. If you are scared of the word mammoth, you need to live with it because that’s the name of beast we are dealing with.

CommandMaster is designed as an iOS port of Windows Phone 8's App Bar

CommandMaster is designed as an iOS port of Windows Phone 8's App Bar | iPhone and iPad development | Scoop.it

CommandMaster is a singleton instance, meaning there is only one instance of the bar throughout the entire application's lifecycle. Because of this, it is ideal to add the CommandMaster.h into -Prefix.pch file, that way you do not need to import it into all Classes, as it is added on compile time and used everywhere.
