Creating interactive video on the iPad | Mobile Learning | Scoop.it

I think this kind of tool can be really beneficial for creating flipped learning or video orientated learning as the speaker can guide learners to various learning resources on the web. They can also embed visual support for language learners such as text and images and even write over the video as though it were a whiteboard.

4 Powerful Apps to Visually Sketch Ideas on iPad ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning

4 Powerful Apps to Visually Sketch Ideas on iPad ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning | Mobile Learning | Scoop.it

"One of the best techniques to catch and record ideas is through using visual graphs. Data that is visually encoded is more likely to be processed by the mind in a faster and easier way. This is probably the reason why students love it when comics and graphic are included in instruction. In this regard,  Educational Technology and Mobile Learning has curated a list of some powerful iPad apps that you and your students can use to visually grab ideas and create sketchy mindmaps. I invite you to check the collection below and share with us what you think of them."

As an avid mind mapper, I would like to add the following apps to the growing list: ThinkBuzan.com's iMindMap HD; Mindjet Maps; MindMaple, and iThoughts HD. Also, MindTools HD for the iPad (see mindtools.com) is a suite of tools covering a wide range of essential skills for students and workplace professionals alike.
Melissa Marshall's comment, September 23, 2013 11:02 PM
great, thanks Rick I will have a look at some of those! Evernote and Notability are my two personal faves, My students love Popplet for mind mapping and they draw a lot using Notability.

Exploring Curation as a Core Competency in Digital and Media Literacy Education | JIME.au.uk

Exploring Curation as a Core Competency in Digital and Media Literacy Education | JIME.au.uk | Mobile Learning | Scoop.it

How can content curation be used in education to support and enhance the development of new media literacy skills?

Paul Mihailidis from the Department of Marketing Communication at Emerson College in tandem with James N Cohen from the School of Communication at Hofstra University, have outlined six different ways in which content curation can be utilized as a key methodology to develop critical thinking, analysis and communication skills.

Their analysis is based on the actual use of Storify, a content curation tool, for specific educational objectives.

Useful as a reference framework for introducing content curation within pedagogical programmes. 8/10
