Transforming Teaching and Learning with iPads: Internet, Halloween, and Guided Math | iPads, MakerEd and More in Education | Scoop.it

"Since receiving the iPad Pilot classroom, life has been so much easier on me with great planning. The Best Way to Use iBooks Author in Education | edcetera - Rafter Blog | iPads, MakerEd and More in Education | Scoop.it

"Sometimes we focus on what an app can’t do and forget to look at what it can. That’s been the case with iBooks Author, Apple’s e-book creation platform released nearly a year ago.

Part of the problem was Apple’s own hyperbolic statements about its “disruptive” nature to the textbook publishing industry. It failed to live up to the hype for a variety of well-documented reasons. But this post is about what it is, not what it isn’t."

The Three Fs for Using Technology in Education – Flexible, Familiar & Frequent | iPads, MakerEd and More in Education | Scoop.it

"The idea of students sitting in front of PCs learning how to use Word is as dead as the proverbial dead parrot. It is already an antiquated model of learning – like chalk or fountain pens with ink-wells; it has a whiff of the twentieth century about it, rather than preparing our students for the future."

"I did a quick search, delving a few pages deep in the results, but couldn’t find what I wanted. I thought that it would be useful if a trailer could be planned in advance, rather than shoot footage and hope that there was enough of the various types of scenes to fit the trailer templates. I know that we should design a trailer around our content, but it is also nice to be able to create one quickly from the templates."
