Mind mapping is a method that works for quite a lot of people. Brain storming, idea mapping, thought generation, think tanks – call it what you will. Traditionally done on large pieces of paper, why not use your iPad to create mind maps? You could use these for your own purposes, or “convert” those large flip charts into a smaller, digital version. Via Baiba Svenca, Wilmer Ramírez

Research shows that mind maps (graphic organizers) are effective during all stages of learning. You can use them as an introduction to a unit, during the unit for continued note taking, or at the conclusion as a formative assessment to make sure your students truly understand the material.

I particularly love what they have to say about letting the students have their own iTunes accounts and letting them load their music and apps on the devices and the learning opportunities those decisions have created in regards to responsibility and balancing appropriate use of the devices.
