Here's How to Use the Two New iPad Multitasking Features in iOS 9 - PASTE

Here's How to Use the Two New iPad Multitasking Features in iOS 9 - PASTE | iPads in Education | Scoop.it
If you have an iPad, then you are in luck. With the iOS 9 public beta and the public release this fall, you’ll be able to take multitasking on the iPad to the next level.

Before iOS 9, multitasking on the iPad was a hassle. Users had to switch from app to app in order to get work done. Reading something in Safari and want to make notes? You needed to double tap on the Home button and then switch over the Notes app to jot them down.

Now, Apple has made it easier to do so with Split View and Slide Over.

How To Add Twice As Much Music On iPhone, iPad Using This Trick | Redmond Pie | iPads in Education | Scoop.it
Tired of your iPhone or iPad running out of storage space? If you’re an avid music listener and use your iPhone or iPad as such with an extensive list of songs packed into your device, head on after the jump to check out how you can easily shrink the footprint of your audio files on your iOS device’s internal storage.

You may already know that higher the bit rate of an audio file, the larger the file size will be. Typically iTunes purchases max out at 256 kbps, with CD rips topping out at 320. On average, a user is likely to find all kinds of bit rates in their library and chances are that the average Joe wouldn’t even notice the quality difference, until or unless you have a God gifted ability to differentiate between the slightest change

"As more classrooms adopt mobile devices such as iPads, teachers and technology integrators are faced with the question: “What apps do I install?”

That is quite a hefty question too. There are over 90,000 iOS apps in the Education category of the App Store. Since apps that teachers can use fall into other categories too, the number of choices is well above 100,000. Does your head hurt yet?"

It is not the product/tool that determines if it ought to be added. What/how does it comlement ans supplement waht the teacher is trying to accomplish with each student. So i woud train the teacher in a few of these and leave it up to her.

" Truss Me is an iPad app that students can use to design and test simple weight-bearing structures. Truss Me can be used in “challenge” mode or in “free play” mode. The challenge mode contains fifteen activities in which students are awarded points for strength and efficiency of their structures. For example, if a structure holds the weight but uses too many parts it doesn’t receive as many points as a structure using fewer parts while supporting the same weight. Structures that won’t work at all fall apart."

How to use AirDrop - iOS 7’s most important new feature for teachers - teachingwithipad.org

How to use AirDrop - iOS 7’s most important new feature for teachers - teachingwithipad.org | iPads in Education | Scoop.it

"When Apple announced Airdrop this past June, I knew it would be a great feature for teachers with iPads. A common complaint about iPads in the classroom was that it wasn’t necessarily easy to transfer student work in the Camera Roll to the teacher. With no USB connection and no SD card slot, how was a teachersupposed to collect student work? Email would work for small files, but videos were much too large to send. Dropbox could be a solution, but that would require students to set up their own accounts, problematic if they are under a certain age. Enter AirDrop, a seamless and very quick way to transfer files via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connections between “nearby” devices."
