25 iPad Apps for Learning Spelling ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning

25 iPad Apps for Learning Spelling ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning | iPads for learning | Scoop.it

"While working on this list of iPad apps for learning spelling I came across over a hundred app which are all supposedly geared towards helping kids and young learners with their spelling but going through them I came out with only 25 and the rest was just a waste of time and effort. I might have skipped some good titles to add to this list but I am pretty sure the ones included in this selection will serve the purpose perfectly."

Lyndsay's curator insight, April 3, 2013 10:17 PM

With the inclusion of literacy as a general capability within the Technologies Curriculum along with students being able to use a range of digital systems for diverse purposes (ACARA, 2013), this resource would be beneficial. It allows educators to use Fotobabble on the iPad to add audio recordings to images and then convert them to short video clips. This would also increase students engagement and would allow them to be involved in their learning.

5 Ways To Use Technology To Engage With Parents - Edudemic | iPads for learning | Scoop.it
Technology can be used to engage with parents like you may have never dreamed. Here are a few kick-butt tools to try!

Bringing technology into our classrooms helps teachers in a variety of ways. From bringing great multimedia and injecting real people and real life experiences into what might otherwise be bland lessons, to making grading and classroom management easier, more seamless processes, it might be easy to forget how we even did things before our devices were the staples of our school days.

iPads in Primary Education: Using The iPad Photo Stream To Develop Collaborative Learning | iPads for learning | Scoop.it

"This week's lesson was based around issues related to animal rights and medical research.  The children had access to iPad Minis which were connected to the school's wireless network.

By creating a photo stream, resources for the day could be shared with the pupils. These included photos, success criteria and examples of work. Pupils could then take copies of the content and annotate and present as they chose. The photo stream was created on one iPad and then shared with the individual pupil iPads."
