A couple of months ago I read a great book by Howard Gardner called Multiple Intelligences: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0465047688/ref=as_li_tf_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=0465047688&linkCode=as2&tag=educatechnand-20

New Horizons in Theory and Practice. The book paves the way for a new theory set forth by Howard where he distinguishes between nine kinds of intelligences. Understanding the different types of intelligences will definitely help teachers tap into the real potential of their students.
