Two Excellent Resources to Find iPad Apps that Go Free ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning

Two Excellent Resources to Find iPad Apps that Go Free ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning | iPads For Instruction | Scoop.it
Each time I post on an iPad app that has gone free I receive few emails asking about the sources I use to learn about these deals. Well, often times I stumble upon these deals in my social media feeds particularly on Twitter. However, I do have two excellent apps on my iPad that keep me updated with special deals in the iTunes App store ( sorry I don't have any for Android users). These apps are free and once you install them you will be able to access and learn about the apps that go free on a daily basis.

The simplicity of Canva is what makes it a viable tool for using in class with students. You do not need to be a graphic designer to use Canva. All you need is a computer or iPad and internet connection. Canva provides you with a variety of pre-made templates and layouts that you can choose from to create your poster. It also provides numerous images and illustrations to use on your layout.

How to use App Smashing on the iPad to create an iBook - Daily Genius

How to use App Smashing on the iPad to create an iBook - Daily Genius | iPads For Instruction | Scoop.it
iPads can be powerful teaching tools. In classrooms around the world iPads are mainly used by teachers and students for consumption, curation, and creation of information. Naturally, due to its simplicity, consumption of information is the most common way in which iPads are used in and out of the classroom. Also, many people use iPads for curating and organizing content. However, creation of information is one of the most powerful ways students can use iPads in the classroom because it allows them to unleash their creativity and illustrate their knowledge in multifaceted ways.

You Can Now Create Your Classroom Website on iPad for Free ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning

You Can Now Create Your Classroom Website on iPad for Free ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning | iPads For Instruction | Scoop.it
Weebly, the popular website creation platform, has now a powerful app that works on iPad. Besides Google Sites, Weebly is one of the best free web tools I have been recommending for teachers to use for creating classroom websites and students portfolios. Weebly has a very simply and easy to use editor that allows you to create your website within a couple of minutes. You can simply drag and drop different elements into your template and add your content and share your website with the world. I have already written a couple of guides on Weebly which you can check from the links below:

iPads + project based learning = limitless possibilities - Daily Genius

iPads + project based learning = limitless possibilities - Daily Genius | iPads For Instruction | Scoop.it
Though more than two years into my school’s implementation of project based learning, yesterday, I found myself excited all over again. I was helping a second grade teacher enhance her landforms PBL by using Padlet as part of the KWL process and suddenly realized that this approach to student-centered learning has truly become a part of who we are as a school.

My adventures in combining PBLs and iPads began with a gift of two carts. I had just started taking the PBLU online courses when the head of our independent pre-k through eighth grade school challenged each grade-level team to teach one unit using the PBL approach while finding authentic ways to draw in iPads. As the lower school technology integration person, I immediately went on a quest to find a guinea pig willing to plan and co-teach a PBL unit incorporating iPads. This is the story of that first experience. . .
