That about sums it up...However as a teacher spends more time with the iPad and is able to use it as tool to help extend the walls of the classroom, and sees how students collaborate, problem solve, and create the teacher realizes that the iPad is just a tool and it is how he/she uses it in class that will make all the difference in the world.  Kinda like IWB; once upon a time if you had an IWB in your classroom regardless of how it was being used one thought they were effectively integrating technology in the curriculum.  Now many classrooms do not have IWB because they are not student centered!

By Laura EastesA new interactive-literacy program that provides elementary school students access to digital books launched this month at three Ardmore elementary schools thanks to a recent partnership and support from the Dollar General Literacy Foundation.Ardmore City Schools has teamed up with the National Center for Families Learning in hopes to improve elementary school literacy levels and reach children after they leave school each day.Through the grant, 110 iPad Apple devices were

It is certainly smart of the Ardmore City School System to take advantage of the eBooks offered by MyOn for free.  The selection of books is huge and each student can download up to 20 ebooks on their device. Reading the selelction of books on any device would be agreat way to Celebrate I Love to Read Month and Digital Learning Day! Two Thumbs Up!

A nice iPad app that allows you to import PPT slides or create new ones, and produce either a screencast or presentation. This could be great for students who want to practice a live presentation so that they can play it back for peer or self-assessment. Better still, it also includes some interactive polling tools to encourage audience participation. Definitely worth a look.

I love love Nearpod. The teacher knows in real time the students that understand the material being presented. Students are able to answer multiple choice questions, short answer, label diagrams, and draw pictures. The teacher can embed video and even access the web! Great app!
