I have tried Reflector on both PC, which was a bit slow and lagged by a couple of seconds though that could have been down to the power of the laptop, and also used it on a Mac which worked great though neither record sound so that needs to be added later or using other software.

Use a Mac or PC to record video from your iPad screen.

Alfredo Corell's curator insight, May 5, 5:01 AM

In order to begin recording your iPad, there are a number of elements you have to get ready. Here's a quick list of everything you need to create an iPad screencast:

  • An iPad (any version except the first generation iPad will work)
  • A Mac or Windows PC
  • Airplay mirroring software
  • Screen recording software
  • A USB microphone

In the directions that follow, I will look at each of these in turn and show how they all interact to help you create a recording of your iPad screen.

The goal of Slice It! is really quite simple: cut the provided shape into whatever number of pieces the level asks for, with just the number of lines the level offers you. Oh, and just to keep it interesting: make all of the pieces EQUAL."

I Scooped this from "iTeach with Technology" blog. Karen Ogen is the author there, but she got it from David Kapuler's blog, "Technology Tidbits."  CreatorVerse looks like a niche which hadn't been filled. Physics and Art! Linden Labs develops games, but has stepped out with more collaborative "gaming."

"While there has been a bit of question as to the effectiveness of SAMR, a shift to move beyond SAMR, and a few proposed changes to the structure of the model floating around online, I have to say that hearing Dr. Ruben Puentedura (you may know him as the father of SAMR) speak at iPad Summit a few weeks ago still felt like a rare app-ortunity and a truly inspiring treat. As I am still collecting my thoughts and ideas from the event, I wanted to share some really great resources from the Dr. SAMR. "

20 iPad Gaming Apps to Boost Kids Critical Thinking Skills ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning

20 iPad Gaming Apps to Boost Kids Critical Thinking Skills ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning | iPadlearningteaching | Scoop.it

"Gaming is an important component of the child's cognitive and emotional growth. In his wonderful book " What Video Games Have to Teach Us About Learning and Literacy. Second Edition: Revised and Updated Edition " http://amzn.to/1bOeA48 James Paul Gee argued for the importance of game play for the learners' developing personalty and the honing of their thinking capacities. Gee analyzed several of the popular video and online games like Sims City, and War of Warcraft, to mention but a few , and found out that the learning design informing these games  are behind their sweeping popularity among gamers in all around the world. Gee further claimed that investing time in playing these games does impinge positively on the learning skills of kids. It, among many other things, help them develop strategic thinking, problem solving, active critical thinking, and meta-level thinking. Check out this post http://bit.ly/19nKi7H ; to learn more about the learning principles embedded in game play as conceptualized by Gee."
