I am once again grateful for all of the educators willing to share resources with the rest of us. Nik has provided an insightful publication on the use of iPads in the classroom. Delete the scoop?

No one goes to the hardware store to buy a drill; they go because they need to make a hole in something. So, I organize my apps by verbs, not nouns: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1477426/How%20to%20Organize%20App%20on%20your%20ipad.png

Maybe this is something that you've always wanted to do? Have your iPad apps organized in alphabetical order. This would be a nightmare for me (a visual learner) as more often than not I don't necessarily know the name of the app but I know what the icon looks like (or the folder that I have put it into). I choose to organize my apps into folders eg ABC's, Word Work, Nurturing Thinking etc. Keep in mind though I use my device predominantly for 'modelling' and to inform others so I have hundreds (did I say hundreds.....my 64gb device is almost full AGAIN).
If though, you have individual devices assigned to your classroom that are not jam packed with too many Apps, this may be just the thing for you!

I must admit that I prefer to organise my apps under folders according to type, (though there are times that this system also 'lets me down'). This could be a useful strategy for user who have quite a few screens of apps.

I definitely understand - my 32 GB iPad is completely full. I have to keep deleting and reinstalling the apps that I do need to use.

Consider usefulness of an app according to learner preferences and strengths, educational goal and characteristics of the app itself.

"Samantha Thomas, a student, future librarian, and educator at Kutztown University, created this handycollection of assistive technologies that you may find helpful. Some are commonly used with special needs individuals, such as augmentative & alternative communication apps like My Pictures Talk,Look2Learn, and iTalk. Others are general consumer apps, such as Evernote, Google Earth, andAudacity." Delete the scoop?

I've been using Evernotes for some long time but this LiveBinder is definitely worth investigating. Old dogs. New tricks. etc.

Easy Portfolio is an iPad app where you can create Portfolios containing pictures, videos, links notes, documents and audio recordings. This would be nice way to share student's work. Delete the scoop?

As an educator in the 21st century, I believe I need to know how to create my own apps. In fact, the apps that already exist like Socrative and Nearpod, which enable me to create and modify subject material, are hugely successful in class. If I, as a relatively unsavvy teacher technologically speaking, will reach the point where I can create apps, then I think technology will have done the teaching profession it's most important favour. I haven't had a chance to use this yet, but if it lives up to the blurb it should be good. One of the features of mobile learning is the "small chunks" of learning thto users expect, so this could offer a good way to provide that. Delete the scoop?

Goodproduct, but if we are going to ask faculty to turn their study guides into ebooks they will need time and often they will need support to get the full benefit of the multimedia available. Delete the scoop?
