It is interesting and pleasing to note that more people are looking to use digital technologies to address appropriate predefined learning goals that may differ from those that best suit traditional learning goals and pen and paper technologies.

A good move. Not using iPads or rather some brand of tablet in the 21st century is like not using biros in the 20th.

edshelf is a pretty neat curation tool that in this case Glenda Stewart-Smith of Surrey School District #36 in Canada has used to put together this collection of iPhone and iPad apps to cover all kinds of mathematical concepts in fun and engaging ways. It’s perfect for going on the road and keeping your little ones busy and learning.

As written in the comment, these apps help prevent learning loss in summer when the school is closed. But why is the school closed in a virtual world? Delete the scoop?

Educational apps are popping up daily, but the question for parents is, how to know which ones are worth using, and which ones are not? Because let's face it, the app industry is out to make money, and many times app developers are very astute at making an app that "looks" educational, but in reality is just full of ads and sneaky ways of getting your children to buy something.
This article lists 46 different websites that review apps for teachers and students. This should help cut through the clutter and help pinpoint the useful from the fluff. Delete the scoop?

It is more fun to learn creating you own story. The word story makes it sound like a fantasy tale, but it could be steps in a process, a summary of what you have learned in class, or a biography Delete the scoop?

These are mainly free, although some are low-cost. I like the sound of Class Dojo as a behaviour management tool. The app to help reduce classroom noise also seems like a good idea. Delete the scoop?

BYOD, a new way enabled the teachers and students learning and communacation through internet . I think it will be a new trend in the future. It will provide the students more opportunity to learn whenever and wherever they want.

That is all it takes. Being brave enough to change just one thing. Instead of this...do that. Tech is a tool. Pick the right tool for job!

I think it's more about how we can utilise technology in the classroom. It's good to see that some teachers go looking for this lind of stuff. Others will come along after it has been proven. Some won't come along unless pushed.
