Mind mapping is a method that works for quite a lot of people. Brain storming, idea mapping, thought generation, think tanks – call it what you will. Traditionally done on large pieces of paper, why not use your iPad to create mind maps? You could use these for your own purposes, or “convert” those large flip charts into a smaller, digital version. Via Baiba Svenca

Research shows that mind maps (graphic organizers) are effective during all stages of learning. You can use them as an introduction to a unit, during the unit for continued note taking, or at the conclusion as a formative assessment to make sure your students truly understand the material.

I haven't had a chance to use this yet, but if it lives up to the blurb it should be good. One of the features of mobile learning is the "small chunks" of learning thto users expect, so this could offer a good way to provide that. Delete the scoop?

As an educator in the 21st century, I believe I need to know how to create my own apps. In fact, the apps that already exist like Socrative and Nearpod, which enable me to create and modify subject material, are hugely successful in class. If I, as a relatively unsavvy teacher technologically speaking, will reach the point where I can create apps, then I think technology will have done the teaching profession it's most important favour.
