How To Use Google Drive and Evernote To Create Digital Portfolios

How To Use Google Drive and Evernote To Create Digital Portfolios | iPad Apps | Scoop.it

Greg Kulowiec & Beth Holland:

With recent upgrades to the Google Drive app on the iPad, it is now a viable solution for student portfolios that can be created in their entirety on iPad. Everything that is created by a student can be uploaded directly to their Google Drive account and into a “Portfolio” folder that can then be shared with any one of their teachers.

36 Core Teacher Apps For Inquiry Learning With iPads - TeachThought

36 Core Teacher Apps For Inquiry Learning With iPads - TeachThought | iPad Apps | Scoop.it

"The interest in inquiry-based learning seems to ebb and flow based on–well, it’s not clear why it ever ebbs.

In short, it is a student-centered, Constructivist approach to learning that requires critical thinking, and benefits from technology, collaboration, resourcefulness, and other modern learning skills that never seem to fall out of favor themselves.

Regardless, St Oliver Plunkett Primary School has put together two very useful images that can help you populate your iPad–or classroom of iPads–with apps that support both inquiry-based learning (the second image below), and a more general approach to pedagogy based on Apple’s uber-popular tablet (the top image)."

11 Mind Mapping Apps for the iPad

11 Mind Mapping Apps for the iPad | iPad Apps | Scoop.it

Mind mapping is a method that works for quite a lot of people. Brain storming, idea mapping, thought generation, think tanks – call it what you will. Traditionally done on large pieces of paper, why not use your iPad to create mind maps? You could use these for your own purposes, or “convert” those large flip charts into a smaller, digital version.

"Making use of free iPad apps in the classroom can enable you to diversify your teaching, while providing the opportunity to inspire and get students more engaged in lessons. What, then, are some of the best iPads that can be used in the classroom, whether you have multiple tablets, or just one as a teaching tool for different groups?"

"I’m assuming you’ve seen at least one of the eight Harry Potter films. In the films, one everyday magical experience is that photos are always moving as if they were video screens, even though they are ‘printed’ on paper. Newspaper photos act out the news event as film too, whilst you walk down the road reading. It seems so magical and yet, like so many things these days , there’s an app for that!

"The Aurasma App (free) allows you to create what’s known as Augmented Reality (Real life with extra info added)
