Maybe China, with its high-speed trains, renewable energy and telecommunications, will change the image of this region and increase even more its presence over there. Not to forget the profit China will make of that presence....

Chinese companies have pumped billions into Africa to secure access to natural resources, boosting countries' economies along the way. Ordinary citizens aren't reaping the benefits, though, and have become increasingly wary of the new investors.
Joanna Kawalec's insight:

In my opinion, China's presence on African soil is profitable for Africa. Although China exports from this continent cheap natural reosurces, Africa also benefits from it because Chinese take care of building infrastruction (what enables transport and communication), factories (what gives jobs to African people) and enable the development for African continent.

Buying Pfizer Nutrition was a very good move for Nestle. Pfizer Nutrition, with 85% of its sales in emerging markets presented a huge opportunity for Nestle to become a visible player in emerging markets. Not to forget 6 billion Chinese market supposed to double by 2016.
