The PreZent app is a new powerful presentation tool that allows ... you to combine multiple mediums in a seamless digital presentation... What sets apart the present app is the ability to ad motion/video throughout the presentation in juxtaposition with still imagery to allow for a very fluid presentation. There is no play button. The video plays automatically as soon as the page has turned. This allows for an uninterrupted presentation... Via Baiba Svenca

bContext is an app that actively transforms the way ideas are shared by enlivening static documents with audio, writing, and drawing capabilities. The app makes it easy for anyone (i.e. designers, architects, consultants, teachers, bloggers, journalists etc.) to add visual and verbal elements to transform complex ideas into engaging communications. Jim Lerman's insight:
I spent a lot of time checking this app out. It seems to be a really excellent way to create presentations on an iPad and deliver them using a variety of methods -- including screencasting directly from the iPad to any type of device (TV, computer, phone, or other iPads). The demos show uses in dealthcare, education, business, and PR/advertsing. The pricing model is a bit steep for schools, but maybe with enough pressure they will modify that. Looks like an app that offers a great deal of functionality. Do give it a try. Comment please.

"iPad has made such a radical change in education with more and more school districts adopting it as a learning tool inside the classroom. Educational Technology and Mobile Learning has been helping teachers all along the way with reviews and tutorials on how to get started using iPad in education. We have reviewed more than 500 apps and we are planning to do more reviews this year. Via Tom D'Amico (@TDOttawa) , Jim Lerman

Robin Good: If you have an iPad and you are looking for a better way to find, discover, browse, search and consume news stories, the new Rockmelt browser for iPads is definitely worth a road test.
Unlike other popular browsers, "rather than showing you a big, empty window--or just whatever site you were looking at the last time you used it--Rockmelt offers up a visual stream of personalized content, culled from friends on Facebook and Twitter, RSS subscriptions, and sites that fall into your designated categories of interest. Posts, articles, images, and the rest take the form of big, tappable tiles in two endless columns--an infinitely scrolling stream of content. Touch one of the items, and, when possible, it pops open in a stripped-down reader view. As you’re checking out that content, you can jump to a full view of the website it’s hosted on, follow links, or just dip back to your stream to find something else to look at."
"Overall, it’s a fairly radical take on what a tablet browser should be, one that starts with the go-anywhere, find-anything utility of the browsers we’re familiar with and grafts a visual, content-curation element on top of it all. In this sense, the new Rockmelt is sort of like a mash-up of Pulse, Flipboard, and Safari--a browser that’s also a news reader, with a dash of social network to round it out."

"Evernote...[is] basically a note-taking application that allows the user to write notes (or record with audio or video) and keep them secure. It also allows notes to be synchronised across your different machines, including handheld devices. In addition to making your own notes, you can take web clippings, snag images or copy web addresses. Frequency is a free iPad app for discovering, aggregating, watching and sharing online video.
Frequency is easy works rather like Fipboard, in that you can search for your favourite channels and sources to add to the Tuner for quick access to the latest videos. Perhaps what might be most most useful is taht you can connect to you Facebook Twitter and YouTube accounts and watch the latest posting from you networks or on YouTube your favourited and uploaded videos. As with other, similar online tools, putting in some time to explore will bring its rewards.
I look forward to seeing what other education professionals think of Frequency, or how they use it

"With more and more schools (and teachers) getting iPads, I’m increasingly being asked how a teacher can hook up their iPad to their interactive whiteboard.
"There are several ways to use your iPad. The first is as a way to control your computer, and the other two involve connecting your computer directly to the projector, removing the IWB from the equation.
"None of these methods let you connect your iPad to your IWB. That’s not possible right now." Via Baiba Svenca Delete the scoop?
